Overall Satisfaction with Vertex
We use Vertex O Series for all of our on-system branches within the US and Canada. This is around 100 branches. O Series has taken the sales tax decision making away from a person and made it electronic which has proven very beneficial over the years by reducing our audit assessments.
Pros
- The tax ids are very granular and give us a very precise tax calculation.
- Vertex O Series gives us very detailed reports that are used in determining Nexus requirements.
Cons
- I'm the manager of our team and not in the details of O Series.
- We had a positive ROI impact after a few years of using O Series. Our branches have less decision making responsibilities which allow them to focus on more value added tasks.
- Another positive ROI was a greater than 100% reduction in audit reductions.

Vertex Consulting was very good and their presentation was spot on.
Vertex was above and beyond
- We created a Tax Rate Lookup that our branches can type in a branch number and zip code and by using transaction tester, Vertex pops back a rate and the details of the rate.
We are using a connector from Microsoft D365 to O Series and support was instrumental in getting the connector up and running in a quick time frame.
