Overall Satisfaction with Watchguard Endpoint Security
My company has nine vessels on the sea worldwide and we are using WatchGuard M290 and T55 as the router and firewall onsite. it also uses as dhcp server supporting the local computers, servers and printers etc. Because we have limited satellite connections we have to create access list for internet access control.
Pros
- It provides vpn so we can remote access the network.
- It has firewall so people can't access some websites we don't need.
- It can reserve ip address for local workstations and printers
Cons
- If you can provide windows interface that can be handled friendly
- If you can have provide more document and examples that could be better.
- If you can provide more reports showing the details information that could be better.
- The hardware we are using as a router is a good device.
- The firewall provide access list so group or user can access outside
- If the subscription is not expired forever that will be better.
I don't handle purchase and implementation directly usually it's my supervisor who takes care of this kind of issues. But as far as I know when our products subscription expired and then if we have any questions we hardly got good replies from you. If you can provide a better service that will be better.
As I know nowadays more and more platform are moving to the cloud. I am not using your could service so far but I think it's a good direction. If you can give us a trial account so we can practice for a few weeks or months we can give you a better feedback.
Out company and our WatchGuard products are still not using cloud based services yet but personally I prefer using it sooner or later. I am pretty sure it's the next generation and we should make the change based on it. If it's more friendly and easy to control I don't mind to use it.

I think every products has their own pro and con. When I worked for another company they used Cisco and later they migrate them to Palo Alto. I would say every company has their own standard hardware as well as the budgets we need to be considering. WatchGuard is the best one for my current one.
