Webroot Business Endpoint Protection + MDR

Overall Satisfaction with Webroot Endpoint Protection

Webroot served as our main antivirus that we deployed to all client machines to help protect them against various attacks. We would also use it to perform malware scans when needed. Anytime we would onboard a machine we would install Webroot as our main line of defense. Around 1000 machines.

Pros

  • Performing quick scans
  • Easy to install and manage through the admin portal
  • Works for our usecase

Cons

  • More detailed reports
  • Non-persistent version of the software for 1 time scans
  • Interactive scans
  • We were able to sell it as part of our security package which led to an increase of revenue
  • We were able to provide evidence that we had systems in place to actively monitor threats
  • Some businesses were a little skeptical of having a program that always monitors files
It does what it needs to do but we have noticed that malware is sort of uncommon and we have started to switch to other solutions of combating malware and suspicious activity such as using products like ThreatLocker and Field Effect, combined with things like malware bytes to perform scans when needed.
Webroot is good in a way that it is an all encompassing solution one stop shop for protecting endpoints but it needs to be managed and licensed. Some users do not need constant protection or need to have it on their machines in where the combination of Field Effect and Malwarebytes is more effective.

Do you think OpenText Core Endpoint Protection delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with OpenText Core Endpoint Protection's feature set?

Yes

Did OpenText Core Endpoint Protection live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of OpenText Core Endpoint Protection go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy OpenText Core Endpoint Protection again?

Yes

It is well suited if you want a passive solution to scanning for malware that reoccurs on a regular basis. It is also good if you one one pane of glass to manage the system from as an administrator.
It is less suited for a case by case basis where you just want to do a quick scan to see if there is any malware on a non-frequent client.
