Overall Satisfaction with WileyPLUS

We use it for our accounting classes. It intergrades well with Canvas. They have quality content and are relevant to meet our teaching needs. Several of their textbooks has a data analytics component which is very helpful.

Pros

  • Quality content - the materials were developed by faculty who have lots of experience in the field. Several of their textbooks have a data analytics component which is very helpful for our students.
  • Great customer support - representatives from Wiley are very good at returning emails and they are very attentive to any needs that we have for their products.
  • Good value - I believe their textbooks along with their learning supplements provide very good value for faculty and our students.

Cons

  • I have compared them with other publishers and I can't think of any at the moment. Other publishers may have several titles for the same subject as Wiley, which provides more options for instructors to pick from, but I personally don't think it's an issue.
  • Easy to adapt - the fact that they have everything that I need in a pre-build Canvas course makes it very easy for me to integrate them into my Canvas course.
  • Similar to other publishers, Wiley materials are delivered to our students via inclusive access which helps lower the cost of the course materials for our students.
  • Improve students learning - we don't really have a way to measure ROI. There are no direct measurement outcomes other than students' GPA for the course.
I entered "Connect and MyLab" in the previous question, but it won't take it for some reason. At any rate, they are very similar, and WileyPLUS does have a slight advantage because it integrates with Canvas.

It's a good platform that has some very good content. We use Canvas as our learning management platform. It is nice to be able to integrate some of the pre-build WileyPLUS course modules into our Canvas course. Other publishers are good too and they sync with Canvas, but I find Wiley's Canvas modules easy to use and customize.
