Overall Satisfaction with Brightmine
Brightmine has been critical in creating our first ever employee handbook. This was the main reason we obtained their services, but I have found myself going there often to consult or look up best practices/compliance requirements for other topics like leaves of absence, FLSA status, etc. For someone who is operating solo in HR without in-house legal/counsel, it's a great option that will save you on legal fees and can provide lots of context on state or jurisdiction requirements and best practices.
Pros
- Compliance, state requirements
- Updates users on certain topics/preferences you mark as important
Cons
- The platform itself looks somewhat dated
- I'd love to see an AI chatbot that uses the data/resources available to answer questions (almost like a 'find me this answer' without having to search through different categories as the search functionality isn't the greatest.
- Cost savings for external counsel
- Mitigated risk in converting FLSA status
- Saved time on research
We trusted Brightmine's policy recommendations for handbook creation for both state and federal compliance. Examples being paid sick leave, sick time off, harassment training, etc
