Overall Satisfaction with Yola

I use Yola for everything from personal website creation to websites for "class of" projects to building sites for work clients. Most recently, I've been using It to fulfill digital products. I really like it's ease of use and the ability to customize it to our various needs.

Pros

  • Easy Setup Using Templates
  • Quick Build Outs of a Website
  • Allows for Extensive Customization of Templates
  • Allows for Password Control of Website or Individual Pages

Cons

  • Password Management Beyond a Single Password - Perhaps Implementing OTP which would allow the sites to do subscription services.
  • An easy way to upload images/files for reference when using HTML
  • They don't charge for HTTPS connectivity when they handle your domains. That saves nearly $300 versus trying to do that with a tool like GoDaddy.
  • Easy Video integration saves a lot of coding.
  • Password management is too simple which costs time and money to circumvent their process on one password.
It works for 99% of the websites I have to build.
Yola is much easier and less costly than GoDaddy when it comes to total website setup. GoDaddy's lure is the $.01 setup if you buy 3 years. But then GoDaddy fails miserably when you look at total cost of owning and managing a website.

Yola is great for a more static approach to building websites. Building dynamic applications is possible because of HTML, but oftentimes harder to accomplish.
