Overall Satisfaction with Zix Email Encryption (ZixEncrypt)

We are using Zix across our entire operation. Zix does a thorough job of addressing our need for an encrypted email solution.

Pros

  • The lexicon is easy to customize to your needs, so what might be prohibited words in one industry could be acceptable in another, so you aren't locked in to a "one size fits all."
  • There are no gray areas with the parameters set for acceptable email.

Cons

  • Occasionally, users will get a rejection notification regarding a message they've sent, but they aren't sure WHY the message didn't meet acceptability standards.
  • Zix provides peace of mind regarding the security of our organization's email
Cost effectiveness, efficiency, and ease of use were the most important factors involved in our decision to select Zix as our encrypted email solution. The need for automatic functionality based on message content without the need for a user to manually select encryption or not was the prime reason Zix was our top choice.
Zix is well suited to organizations dealing with confidential or non-public information, as Zix can be included as an add-in to most popular email clients, working in the background as a silent but trustworthy watch dog that will prevent that valuable information from being released into "the wild" unprotected and encrypted.

Using Zix Email Encryption (ZixEncrypt)

The only shortcoming Zix has in in the reporting feature to a user when their message has been rejected. It is rather vague and often confusing to a user as to WHY their message could not be sent. Some trial and error is necessary for a few messages until they can be molded into acceptability.

Lisa, When you say occasionally the user is getting a rejection notification is sounds like this is not a bounce but something from the Zix system. It is possible this could be caused by a policy conflict where you have two policies that are overlapping and causing the error. I would recommend you contact Support and ask if they can do a HealthCheck of your policies to identify an issues. Thanks, Dena
