IT Glue is being used across our organization to secure client data. As a Technology Support Provider, we keep a lot of info on our client's technology and a tool like IT Glue is needed to quickly store it and access it securely. It needs to be accessible to all staff and preferably to clients too.
  • Storing basic information such as notes and configurations about a specific client.
  • Staff being able to access the data on a computer or mobile device.
  • [I feel] it is trying to be an all-in-one tool by including password managers, checklists, etc.
  • [I believe] it is quite slow and clunky.
  • [I feel] the interface is very outdated.
  • Password manager is terrible compared to others [in my experience].
  • [I feel the] checklist functionality is not good compared to other products.
  • [I believe] permissions are very confusing.
  • [I feel the] learning curve is steep.
IT Glue is designed for MSPs and apparently many use it. I would not say it is well suited, however, due to the fact that it is very pricey and there are alternatives that do a better job of most functions for less money and better support [in my experience]. [I feel] it is definitely not appropriate for smaller organizations. While it tries to be an all-in-one solution by including such things as password management and checklists, in reality, [I believe] these functions are very poor compared to products that are actually designed to do them. For example, password managers like RoboForm or LastPass are miles ahead of IT Glue. Or, real checklist apps like Process Street make IT Glue look pretty pathetic [in my opinion].
  • Storing configuration information about clients
  • Sharing configuration information about clients
  • We regret the purchase and have received little, if any, ROI.
  • [In my expereience], the main feature we hoped to get ROI from (MyGlue) was so terrible we were embarrassed to roll it out to our clients.
  • Because [I feel] it is slow and clunky, staff find quicker ways to access needed data so this is not used as much as we would have liked.
We used simply OneNote before IT Glue and still keep basic info in there. [I believe] it was not great for sharing outside the company but worked very well to share securely with staff. RoboForm can be used to share info to your clients, such as passwords and configuration details. We have started using Atera and find we can use that to store configuration info securely too.

IT Glue is used primarily by our helpdesk and projects departments. It is intended to be used across the organization but due to its inconsistent search function and strong learning curve on how to find information, it is not used by other departments.

It addresses most documentation items by allowing us to put in what key information someone new would need to reference or something that does not change often. It does not fulfill the need for easy edits or submissions for ever changing items or major projects.
  • Fully customizable tenant information with core & fixed assets
  • Easy to organize SOPs
  • Looks visually appealing
  • Search functionality is only from document titles
  • Archive search is unpleasant
  • Difficult to find where information is stored within a flexible or fixed asset
It is best suited for an MSP but it is also best not suited for an MSP.

It is well suited for folks with a minimal knowledge of a client and are attempting to learn what they can. Perhaps just bumbling about and can find the same thing consistently.

At my particular work, we pay somebody full time to manage the system. I feel this is unnecessary.
  • It allows our organization to point people to a central repo. Time gained for self help
  • Detracts as we have to pay someone time to maintain the system
  • More often than not we have to make significant formatting edits to articles to make them searchable.
Currently, we are evaluating using Sharepoint instead of IT Glue as documents and items are searchable within the document instead of by title. We feel that by only searching by title and the type it hinders the speed at which information can be found easily.

IT Glue is being used on our technical team to handle all inventory/asset, password, knowledgebase management to support our customers. It allows us to have a one-stop-shop for any information our techs may need.
  • Password management.
  • API connections to key software such as Autotask and Office 365.
  • Configuration documentation.
  • Full push to auth 2FA with Duo.
  • Mobile App - This would be #1.
This is a perfect solution for any MSP who needs quick access to customer information from ISP circuits to passwords. The more you put into this software the more you will get out of it in the long run.
  • Improved response time on incidents.
  • ROI is obvious. The more data we put in for our customers the more efficient our techs get.
We tried Confluence but it had such a steep learning curve not only for the installer but for everyone involved. It didn't go very far and everyone got fed up with it quickly. I know confluence can do a ton of things but when you don't have dedicated people to implement you need something already done which is why we went with IT Glue.
I haven't had to engage support yet because everything has pretty much just worked as it should.

IT Glue has been given our MSP team a large array of tools to better assist our clients. It allows us to easily access such tools as passwords, licenses, knowledge base articles, and keep track of everything that our clients have on site. We are able to locate anything on the site by a simple search. It makes managing simple and easy to use. It has helped reduce the amount of time each of us spends searching for client information. We are also able to sync various vendors with IT Glue and all that information is pulled into their page. This helps us stay productive as an MSP. We receive better results with how reliable IT Glue has been.
  • Client Management - We are able to easily select a client or do a search for a particular password on the main page.
  • There is a lot of information you can add for each client: Contacts, documents, domain information, SSL information, and more. It's very well made, so nothing feels confusing.
  • IT Glue integrates very well with other software to make it even better. Being able to use PowerShell and RDP within IT Glue is super useful.
  • The price for each IT Glue user is not that high.
  • Removing KB documents takes some time to learn. This mainly has to do with certain permissions assigned to each user. I wish it was easier to delete documents that are added by mistake.
  • There's a bit of a learning curve before you see why IT Glue is so good. You might feel overwhelmed at first.
  • I hope IT Glue keeps adding more vendors to the list. It would be a shame if something wasn't compatible or could not be imported into IT Glue.
If you manage clients through an MSP then you should try IT Glue. It is easy to use and you can do just about anything if you take the time to get it set up. I really enjoy using IT Glue. It has a lot of information about our clients. You don't have to look at getting multiple programs or software to run a successful MSP team. If you're smaller and you aren't looking to spend the money then maybe you could get by using something else. There are a lot of free and low-cost solutions out there. After a while, you will either love IT Glue or you've found something that works for you.
  • Solves our client's needs in a timely manner.
  • Reduces the amount of money we spend on IT software.
  • Very user-friendly. Creating knowledge base articles has never been this easy.
Spiceworks is a free tool to use if you're in MSP. The community is fantastic, but it lacked in certain features. The amount of information I can put into IT Glue is leagues ahead of Spiceworks. You also have to have supplementary software to reach the wealth of information that IT Glue provides. Zoho was a very toned down help desk system and it felt like finding passwords was more of a chore. With IT Glue everything is in front of you. You have to take some time to implement it, but I highly recommend trying IT Glue. IT Glue helps us get information that our clients need fast.
I love using IT Glue. It gives me a lot of information that would normally take me a lot more time to find. I find creating knowledge base articles and updating passwords easy to do. If I'm on the phone with a client then IT Glue is all I need to help satisfy their needs.
Super easy and fun to use. There are very few clicks from finding information that may be beneficial to your needs. I have never experienced any technical issues with IT Glue. There is also great support if you need help and there are support articles to help you get started.
There was maybe 1 program that wasn't 100% compatible with IT Glue. We just entered this as a misc entry. We could reference it by using the quick search feature. Overall it has worked great with Office 365 and we can make changes very easily. You can add a lot of information into IT Glue.
