Well suited in scenarios where you have a large amount of incoming mails, worry of accidental deletion, and require retention of data from sources, especially with Microsoft Teams. You will have to get used to the complex search features to make full use of Zix capabilities though. If you have a basic usage of emails and your email client already provides these features, then Zix wouldn't be of much use for the expense it incurs.

They do provide support when required, especially with integration problems within your mailboxes and Teams. Take time to respond sometimes, but overall good service.

7-Zip is free of charge and meets all our needs in handling compressed files, both those produced by us and those that come from third parties.
The interface is the faster I've ever seen.
The competitor evaluation versions have ads or a lot of reminders that I've to pay now or then.

Zix Information Archiving (ZixArchive) is fairly 1:1 with these solutions except for prior data not uploading. Indexing metadata for searches is on point and the fields function as you'd expect and clearly labeled. The only gotcha I typically hit in searching is I always hit enter after typing the email address in the search field, which presents me with a new line instead of moving to the next field--it's muscle memory and I understand the reasoning--it just doesn't fit my flow, as typically I only search for one email address per field.
