Adobe Illustrator

Well suited for creating and converting vector files. Also offers a lot of customizations for file editing, which can come in very hardy. For basic image editing or file designing, I would prefer Photoshop or InDesign. Illustrator has so many options that I try to avoid using it, simply because for my basic day-to-day tasks, there are simpler products to use.

It can replace excel graphs for more powerful and brilliant presentations either static or online.
It is very easy, just copy paste raw excel information to the data sheet in infogram and your grap is built in a snap.
Not so god when you edit the data a lot.

Cons

  • The free distort/transform feature is still difficult to use.
  • The color libraries function is difficult to navigate.
  • Some of the tools that ares supposed to be "just like Photoshop" are not just like Photoshop.

  • I gave it a 10 for a reason....
  • Some graphs could have more features to change their appearance (but perhaps then it wouldn’t be as simple)
  • Should have a better way to copy and paste to another app

While Adobe Illustrator CC is one of the only true design software out there, it really stands heads above the other products. It's clean UI and menu structure is easy to navigate.

Alternatives Considered

Corel Draws would be its only real alternative, but to switch to this platform you would have to lean how to use it. I have used Corel Draw in the past but find Illustrator easier to work with as it is what I started with and to learn another program would be like starting over. Nothing against Corel Draw, but i'll stick to what I know best.

Info gram is perfect for quick making a graph without losing any time. Other tools oblige us to lose more time to make the same thing.

Return on Investment

  • I have copies of logos and artwork that are always used and if they were not in vector format, it would be impossible and costly to have them created for different size banners or posters for promotional use.

  • Has a free user option and it is faster and easier to build great graphical graphs.
  • Now I don’t have to ask design guys to make me a fancier graph for a presentation.
  • After the first graphs are made I can reuse them for the next month's presentation.
