Amazon Corretto vs. Caspio vs. ComponentOne

Amazon Corretto is the best platform for individuals, companies, or businesses to get started at no cost and easily develop and run Java applications in the same environment in the Cloud, on-premises, and/or on local PCs. Great support from AWS, solving all performance and security problems, and able to work on different platforms.

Contact forms are incredibly easy to build and customize, as are most other kinds of more involved forms. Forms allow html input and can be designed in a number of ways. It's helpful if you know some HTML. JavaScript knowledge can add advanced options, but is not necessary for the most common uses. The company used to call itself "No-Code," but has changed to say "Low Code," which is much more accurate.

C1 is great for creating custom reports. We have client apps where we've created some fairly complicated reports such as invoices and real estate inspections. We also use the True DBGrid in many of our apps since it is so customizable. Its grouping and filtering features are very nice and can provide summary counts and totals at the bottom or right side of the grid that are very handy.

• Caspio is an online database platform. It allows one to create multiple tables and views to be stored via the web. Tables can be configured to not only hold data but also to hold files like Word docs and images.
• Caspio is great at creating online forms and reports. It allows the user to create forms to capture, update data, whether it's password protected or just a simple form.
• As a database platform, one can create online tables and forms linking multiple tables and views to each other. I would say it is the Microsoft Access of the online platforms.
• The system is very easy. Wizards allow one to create forms, tables, and datapages. Since the platform is online, you may access your database anywhere.

• The True DBGrid control is nice for showing parent/child relationships and being able to drill down and show the child data. It also is nice for showing summary totals.
• The report engine is great for building custom reports for Win Forms or web apps. It can do everything that Crystal Reports can do.
• They have a good selection of controls that can do just about anything you can imagine.

• This service is relatively unknown and less popular which results in the smaller community which means in case you get stuck somewhere it may be difficult for you to the find the resources.

• Sometimes it is difficult to figure out where things are in the properties of controls since there are so many things you can drill down into.
• I find myself using Bing or Google a lot to look up how to do something. Some things are not very intuitive.

We are committed to Caspio Bridge. We could migrate to another product, but we would not be able to do so quickly. I estimate that we would need about a year (maybe more) to convert all of our forms and processes if we were to switch to some other product

I've had some instances where my team and I discovered a bug in Caspio. We alerted the company, and the bug was fixed in the next regular update of the software. The few times that I've had to contact support, it was a pretty good experience. They're not terribly quick to respond and take action, but they don't ignore you, either.

We have been in business since 1992, so we have used many different products over the years. The two other products we've primary used that are similar to ComponentOne, are Infragistics and Crystal Reports. Infragistics has a vast array of controls similar to ComponentOne. We use both to be honest and I'm not sure which one I would pick over the other. I guess that would depend on what you're trying to accomplish and if one had some control or capability that the other didn't. ComponentOne does have the reporting capabilities, where Infragistics does not.

• ComponentOne allows us to add additional features to our apps that wouldn't be found in apps written with just Visual Studio itself. That allows our clients to get more creative in their requirements, which in turn, means more work and billable hours for us!
• Our apps appear more professional when using ComponentOne which helps us get projects for new clients.
