There is a cost involved with data retrieval. AWS Backup is truly that, a backup. If you need to access this data on a regular basis, there are better options out there. For long term, just in case incremental backups, AWS [Backup] checks all the boxes. Just set it up, start your backups, and rest assured your data is safe.

For companies with more than 10 Windows devices and needing to standardize the OS, AV, access, share resources, and install software. SCCM is the way to go. This software is unnecessary if the business is all remote users and not in an office-type setting. There are cloud offerings or none to accomplish what a business needs.

The Veeam on IBM Cloud functions [is] easy to set on the first time to use the platform and the effective capability on predictive disaster, easy to backup the most important data through the Veeam on IBM Cloud functionalities. The product could improve in the area of having better mechanisms in place with how the SCEP client is deployed/installed from the server on the management side. We have run into this firsthand with the client not installing on an endpoint, and then having to take the time to investigate why it was not installing.
A second improvement that can be made is to keep trying to improve the products detection rate for finding malware/viruses. The case can be made that there are some products out there that do a better job at this and have a higher detection rate.

The reporting could use some work. If you have a client who has some serious audit controls in place, you may find yourself creating the report versus depending on the system do that piece for you.
My complaint would be with the notification emails. They are not configurable and come out regardless of whether a backup set completed or is still running.
The scheduling is a little clunky. It would be much nicer if the backup could be "continuous" anytime it's connected to the Internet (similar to Carbonite).

Overall because I can sell it white labeled and use my white labeled software like CloudBerry and the native backup apps on my synology NAS servers to store things in real time and do duplication and disaster recovery directly to it was game changing for my client in the advertising world they are never down now.

It is not user-friendly for the most part. With IT infrastructure, sometimes it cannot handle excess requests. Every few months, you will need an upgrade in terms of server resources to keep up with incoming alerts and requests. This does not happen all of the time, but it does happen when there are too many requests.

Veeam is very easy to use once fully on-boarded and trained. Part of the reason we can respond to a critical situation swiftly is that it is so easy to use. We did take 2 years to be fully comfortable with the product as we tested it with others, but once we committed to Veeam, there was no question about it.

Support for AWS Backup is by Amazon itself so it is solid as always. If you have a business or higher level support plan you'll have no trouble getting engineers or other staff on the job to help you with whatever comes up.

There is a fair amount of documentation out there to help you when you have questions or run into issues with this product as well as tutorials on some of the more common tasks. Between the documentation and the overall ease of use we haven't had to deal with direct Microsoft support for this product.

At the moment I cannot say anything bad about the overall provided services. It's holding me back to put the mark even higher as other cloud solutions have their advantages as well, so I can't rate this one higher than competitor ones. However the experience is really positive to the moment and it has delivered always.

I've tried a lot of different products. Backblaze, at least from a birds-eye view is significantly cheaper than AWS/the rest. Backblaze is a little more simpler, but it's well worth it. Linode also provides backup options, however I'm only familiar with their backup on their VPS's (however you make that plural), which never gave me a problem.

We previously used a mix of FOG and Clonezilla to image machines. The biggest issues with these products is that changing one piece of the image required you to rebuild the entire image itself. These pieces of software also did not allow you to manage applications and Windows Updates, causing IT to have to constantly touch machines after they were imaged and update or manage them with a much more hands on approach.

Veeam BLOWS AWAY Veritas in terms of reliability, recoverability, and Especially PRICE! Veritas is literally thousands of dollar more than comparable Veeam Software. Veritas's support is virtually non-existent. I believe the only reason Veritas is even still in business is because of their reputation as the ONLY backup software a decade or more ago. If you use Veritas, I HIGHLY recommend throwing it away and trying out Veeam - You will NOT go back to Veritas!
