We selected BlueJeans because of COVID-19 we needed a tool to broadcast large events. I work in high education industry and we needed to broadcast graduation ceremony. It was easy and convienent to assign the roles, presenters and moderators, previously to the event by sending …

Zoom is to gernic and does not allow for a lot of options that Bluejeans allow for. Teams just is terrible, it is not user friendly and require a lot of work to knowledge to use.
Chose BlueJeans Events (discontinued)
Outside of Zoom, I find BlueJeans to be competitive, If you would offer a free limited use like Zoom, it would be more competitive.
Chose BlueJeans Events (discontinued)
I like Blue Jeans better because of the clarity of the voice, faces, and less dropped participants during the meeting.
Chose BlueJeans Events (discontinued)
BlueJeans worked just as well as the other platforms. Again, I don't utilize the programs for all of the capabilities that it has. We selected BlueJeans because my organization has a contract with Verizon. I do think that the name isn't ideal. Everyone has heard of Google …

Google Meet is better for our clients because it's more well-known and people tend to already have it downloaded.
Chose BlueJeans Events (discontinued)
I think that BlueJean Events is reasonably priced and from my point of view, I think that BlueJeans provides pretty much the same services as those other products.
Chose BlueJeans Events (discontinued)
It's best to use features like a whiteboard and break-out rooms. That makes it great for meetings where collaboration and distribution are needed. Others have these features but are not as comfortable as BlueJeans.
Chose BlueJeans Events (discontinued)
Well, BlueJeans has better audio experience, better video experience. Works much better than teams, when there is more than 10 users
Chose BlueJeans Events (discontinued)
I have only used BlueJeans Events for virtual video calling, conferences, presentations, and classes. BlueJeans Events has met all my needs and gives me no reason to consult or try other platforms or products.
Chose BlueJeans Events (discontinued)
BlueJeans Events is better for events and larger meetings where there are moderators, panelists, Q&As, questions. Google Meet is better for smaller meetings: with one other person or a group, you know.
Chose BlueJeans Events (discontinued)
It's comparatively easy to conduct sessions on BlueJeans. Time duration plays an important role in putting it at an advantage. Chat and Q/A features work great.
Chose BlueJeans Events (discontinued)
We do use Zoom events in some instances, such as smaller to medium scale events where on-camera student-to-presenter interaction is the bulk of the event, such as focus groups and communications training. The Zoom events/meetings interface is just a bit cleaner and easier to …

I use BlueJeans at school because that is what my college uses. Every student automatically has access and it is integrated with Canvas. Google Meet is worse for screen sharing and breakout rooms. Zoom and BlueJeans are fairly comparable with most features.
Chose BlueJeans Events (discontinued)
Blue Jeans events are typically on par or exceed the competition. Teams and Zoom edge it out slightly in terms of call and audio quality, and Webex is about the same. However, Events beats Teams and Zoom in terms of ability to handle large-scale audience participation and even …

BlueJeans Events has been less “buggy” than the others. Professors sometimes struggle learning new technologies, but BlueJeans [Events] has caused the fewest problems. It’s also easy to start meetings with the simple link-sharing feature. This link can be posted to our class …
Chose BlueJeans Events (discontinued)
BlueJeans was used previously by the organization and therefore had been grandfathered in. It seemed to be more popular among our users, to begin with, but as time has gone on, Zoom seems to be picking up in popularity among the users since it is more widely used. But for the …

BlueJeans Events is really well-suited for large attendance virtual events and meetings. It was perfect for many of the classes I've taken, as well as hosted, especially during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, where oftentimes in-person classes and interactions have been limited. I love how BlueJeans Events fosters meetings and interactions for large numbers of individuals, despite the fact that in-person meetings of this size have not entirely been feasible during the past year and a half.

Pros
  • For larger meetings, BlueJeans does a great job of handling active speakers and bringing their video to the forefront while they are speaking. This goes a long way toward bringing all employees to the table in a meeting setting and makes it easy for participants to follow the flow of the meeting, especially in event format meetings with hundreds of participants.
  • BlueJeans does a good job of calendar integration making it easy to add/create single or recurring meeting invites with an associated BlueJeans meeting within the invite so all attendees are able to manage and join meetings with ease.

Cons
  • Many people don't yet prefer BlueJeans in our company due to the lack of breakout rooms, PPT uploads, and the requirement to upload videos to play them.
  • Using the SSO login doesn't give me the control of manually provisioning accounts. I have to call their customer support line if there is an issue with SAML provisioning.
  • The service charges for events in customer hours watched. This racked up a large bill as the company scaled.

BlueJeans Events are certainly useful for inviting a large group of individuals to attend and witness an event, but the platform can be non-intuitive to use, especially on the presenter's side. There are frequently some technical difficulties, and it's often necessary to have one or many moderators monitoring the event during its progress for ease of use. Additionally, the BlueJeans Events are a somewhat passive form of presenting, which is not ideal for the use cases within the organization.

Usability
Joining meetings it is easy, setting up an account is also easy. It may be a bit confusing for participants that don't know the platform, as it is not straightforward to understand that joining a meeting is completely free. I am always the host and I find it easy to organize and chair meetings.

Performance
I think that BlueJeans Events is 7/10 because it's pretty efficient. The audio and video quality is pretty great. I've only had a few connectivity issues but otherwise, it's performed fine. The features are also impressive; I am a huge fan of being able to record my calls so that I can refer back to them whenever necessary.

Support Rating
I really like site bluejeans.com and how simple it is.You can find there instructions, tips and how to create event or secure it! Of course FAQ is always useful and that's what you can find there too! Of course there is contact to support team which I remember was great and professional. Support Team really cares about their customers and don't forget about them. It feels like you can always count on them and reach out with any kind of question(s) which I think is very important.

Alternatives Considered
Zoom is not good for presentations where a lot of people are attending. You end up having people unmute themselves and make noise while the speaker is talking. It can be very distracting. BlueJeans Events ensures that all attendees who are not required to speak are off camera and do not have the ability to speak. This allows for a smoother presentation with little to no interruptions.

Scalability
We've been using BJ Events with big event and it worked as good as smaller one. All meetings were international and it didn't seem like it at all, I mean the quality was great. Maybe time delay was noticeable sometimes (sound to video) but it might also be caused by poor quality of internet connection.

Return on Investment
  • There has certainly been significant cost savings on travel, particularly for internal communications. We have also found that BlueJeans has been better than other client systems like Webex. For example, we regularly switch to using BlueJeans over customer systems (Webex, Skype for Business).
  • Certainly meetings are shorter and more productive, specifically our daily standup meetings with remote users.
