Boomi vs. Planview Hub

Legacy systems often need to be replaced or integrated with new applications in order to modernize businesses. A strong API strategy that avoids custom coding and third-party programs is essential to enable this integration. Boomi's new-age connectivity and integration solutions ensure safe, secure, and robust integration. In the age of information, businesses are under more pressure than ever to be able to collect and manage large amounts of data. Planview TaskTop Hub is very well suited to implement the integrations to synchronise data such as requirement, task, bugs. We have very good experience with the integration between Jama and Jira as well as between two Jama instances. In the context test management, related to Test steps in a test case, it's quite complicated. Test Case synchronization between two Jama instances works with Steps. But we aren't able to implement the synchronisation of Test Cases including Steps to such Plugin of Jira like Xephyr.

• More from a development perspective. It is always difficult to use the properties features. It takes a while to understand how the data/variables can be used across an integration.
• Dell Boomi should also invest more on API Management and not just seen as a ETL,ESB tool.
• Should roll out features more often based on users reviews.

Dell Boomi has provided us with the ability to connect our campus together using our various existing platforms. There are many supported features and have yet to run into something that we cannot do. Its user interface is very intuitive which would allow users to begin developing fairly easily. There is a myriad of resources available

A great integration tool, which comes with a wide range of supported end tools. Planview TaskTop Hub works with an integration concept that maximizes the scalability and flexibility of integrations across more than just two tools. For example, from our experience, we started with the integration between Jama Connect and Jira. We were able to extend our integration concept to a new tool, Pro Cloud Server, by ourselves. The element was synced within 10 minutes.

We're hosting Planview TaskTop Hub by ourselves. The availability was good until now. A part of that, we have a strict plan for the quality control on any update of both Hub and End tools to avoid as much as possibily any disruptions.

The atom sphere takes a time to load, when I open a process or when I open a log. One more slow processing is when I import objects from NetSuite.

About the performance of processing, it looks like Boomi takes a time to initialize some things such as connectors before starting the process. This is also performance we have.

Planview TaskTop Hub does generate traffic for some end tools. It is still in an acceptable range. For certain kind of retry to resolve issue in synchronizing relationships, an additional manual attention was required.

Boomi support was responsive and knowledgable, however being a closed cloud service, it doesn't have good community support. We found the learning curve to be steep and there aren't avenues like google, forums, or blogs that provide community driven insight into the product or how to go about designing solutions using the tool

I was considering giving a rating between 9 and 10. Overall, the support has been very good so far. However, I have noticed that the members of the support team have varying levels of know-how about Planview TaskTop Hub. When a ticket about a complex technical issue reaches a member such as Christoph T., Sr. Customer Engineer, the analysis is done thoroughly, and a sustainable solution is provided. With other members of the support team, the experience might be different.

We had a very good collaboration with the enabling team from Tasktop in 2018. The enablement program was adequately structured, starting with building an integration concept based on use cases of the synchronized data. The training provided a good foundation for us to operate and maintain the tool. The tool administration and architecture were straightforward.

We decided to go with Dell Boomi because another department in our company was already using the software. We did not research competitor applications to use as our business solution. Dell Boomi was very easy and quick to set up, so once we decided to use Dell Boomi for systems integration, we had it set up and running within a few working days.

Jira Align does not synch items outside of JIRA and Azure Dev Ops; TT Hub is specifically utilized to address connections to various other SDLC application.

We don't need to deploy Planview TaskTop Hub in other units but we could extend the integration to cover the new data, new data type and new projects.

• It has allowed us to scale significantly without having to add headcount, specifically those geared towards data entry. We went from a $10m ARR business to $200m ARR business with the same amount of Order Processors and 12x amount of transactions by leveraging Boomi to perform a lot of the work, and then having the Order Processing team to simply review that the transaction was processed successfully.
