Considered Both Products
Citrix Workspace (discontinued)
Chose Citrix Workspace (discontinued)
Less login and connection issues with Citrix Workspace versus Remote Desktop Manager.
Chose Citrix Workspace (discontinued)
There is really no comparison here - Adobe just doesn't have the bandwidth to provide all of the services that Citrix Workspace does.
Chose Citrix Workspace (discontinued)
The primary reason to choose Citrix Workspace was that it's cost-effective. Citrix Workspace also has majorly involved in this business, other alternates are one of the other products for parent companies which makes it more focused on its intent. Citrix Workspace comes with a …
Chose Citrix Workspace (discontinued)
I was not involved in the selection/purchase process, but Citrix Workspace offers a reliable and proven remote access solution, that is secure and, as far as I know, less expensive than Amazon Workspaces.
Chose Citrix Workspace (discontinued)
Citrix Workspace allows for great control over what users have access to, and how they access those applications.
Chose Citrix Workspace (discontinued)
Citrix does great at allowing us to access work from remote locations. Our IT provider is very familiar with the product and is able to troubleshoot this product much better than the competitors.
Chose Citrix Workspace (discontinued)
On the basis of user experience and productivity, CIitrix Workspace provides a single experience for employee to get work done quickly and efficiently and on the other hand applications like VMware users have to use multiple tool to access their file and apps.

Nerdio
Chose Nerdio
We ran an RDS environment for 20 years and Citrix was always a very expensive option with a deep and rich working environment, however I feel that Nerdio is a far superior product that's been born in the cloud and fits the more modern VDI requirements of businesses. We choose …
Chose Nerdio
We moved to this solution when there was only a limited number of vendors offering this type of work environment... and after talking to colleagues who initially selected other vendors, they were happy to make the switch to AdarIT/Nerdio.
Chose Nerdio
We were given similar options that were far more expensive and still wanted us to have significant on site hardware. Having everything offsite (except for switches and sonicwall) makes my life so much easier. The techs can manage everything from their end.

Citrix Workspace is well suited as a dashboard for the variety of software and applications that relate to the various functions of our department. It seems secure and simple to navigate, which I appreciate as someone who handles sensitive information.

Nerdio's well positioned in dynamic user count environments, for sure. Or where user's are brought on temporarily and new IT hardware purchase isn't cost effective. If you'd in an environment where frequent application updates are needed, Nerdio handles this with an image model. Less appropriate in predictable, basic computing environments.

Cons
  • I find it particularly difficult to easily save to anything other than my file database, such as my regular desktop files. The series of folder paths is very confusing in my opinion.
  • I cannot save pdfs to my remote system and must save them locally.
  • No printing to work place destination capability.

  • My only complaint would be when we are adding new users and thinking/testing to make sure we've covered all our bases

We find Citrix Workspace an easy to use, reliable and secure remote access tool. We never have issues accessing either environments (workstations, servers and virtual machines) not using deployed applications.

Usability
Access to the workspace is simple and quick, using username and password and a second factor authentication. Once logged in, you can see all the environments (servers, virtual machines, etc) and applications that are available based on the permission granted to your user. With a couple of clicks you can easily access to your remote desktop or to one of the applications.

Nerdio's UI, and technology are ever evolving, and becoming more useful as time progresses. There's a ton of video trainings to bring folks up to speed on our internal team. It's intuitive, and the links to the corresponding blades in Azure are super helpful. Most of the automated tasks return usable errors when failed, which is helpful

Return on Investment
  • During the pandemic, Citrix Workspace was vital in allowing me to continue operations by working from home. Without Citrix Workspace, I think that our company would have had a lot of trouble with all of the WFH operations.

  • We have far less problems and our employees are all much more productive (almost too productive!)
  • It is a little expensive, so it will take us some time to see the savings.
