Likelihood to Recommend

Concord

Contract management is well suited, and templates are less appropriate, but still a nice feature.
Piper Paton Shano | TrustRadius Reviewer

Icertis

Good for standard contracting processes that involve your forms and a set approach. Not as flexible for situations involving customer paper and processes that are less strict. Not good for proposals and RFP projects, which often do not result in a contract at that stage.

Pros

Concord

  • Automated templates are incredibly easy to implement. Concord also does, for the most part, very well at keeping formatting when uploading documents in Word. The only downside is if you use formulas (naming convention for contracts), if you do not copy + paste as values before uploading then it will give the contract the name of the formula.

Icertis

  • A good way to organize your contracts by type/business line/etc.
  • Contract provision library is useful for reviewers of contracts - helps standardize language and approach.

Cons

Concord

  • For what we use, we do not see any areas that are in need of improvement.

Icertis

  • Some features are unnecessarily limiting. For example, the inability to delete records or change fields later if it turns out there has been a mistake in how the contract was entered or the term was described. The Icertis form fields are NOT the contract record that is required to be kept. If someone makes an error, they should be able to fix it. The contract itself doesn't change, and that is the business record.
  • Too much is built on the assumption that the person requesting the contract is the one with the control or ownership of the contract. It would be better if the person to whom the contract is submitted for review was the owner in the system.
  • Not all requests will in fact end with a contract. Sometimes requests are started and the project is abandoned or put on hold for a period of time. More status fields that reflect the reality of contracting would be helpful.

Alternatives Considered

Concord

I would rather not compare apples and apples nor apples and oranges, and just share Concord has been an excellent Contract Management System for current organization.

Icertis

I think that all three of these platforms are solid products. I was not the decision maker in choosing Icertis over the other two products - that was handled by our IT department.

Return on Investment

Concord

  • Since our implementation, I am saving a few hours a month in managing our IC contracts.
  • When people have questions about contracts, now it's clear "Hey, look in Concord" versus "Hey, does John or Sally have this contract?".
Jacob Wall | TrustRadius Reviewer

Icertis

  • Too new to product to have ROI estimates. Less than 1 year of implementation. But, I would say we have better ways to track our existing agreements with this tool.
