Connecteam vs. Planday

Connecteam is great for distributed teams; the messaging feature is good for DMs and group messaging. Sending updates to relevant staff groups is very easy with Connecteam. Furthermore, having required acknowledgements on updates is paramount for compliance and ensuring all employees have received and understood new information that was sent to the team

Planday is a wonderful first step in organizing team management, such as mass communication, scheduling, time off requests, and centralized timesheets. I used it for my retail business and found it to be extremely helpful in communication with my team and keeping track of everyone scheduling needs in one place. As we grew, I noticed a need to assign tasks, which would be very helpful for larger companies or businesses with daily tasks that need to assigned to specific team members, departments, or shifts

• Daily team productivity with time clock feature
• Easy of running weekly payroll reports
• Employees to manage and own their time before being approved for payroll
• Easy to add absences and PTO
• Free until you need more than 10 users
• It is great that you can tell where your employees are logging in from ie the office, home or in the field

• Provides an overview of staffing levels for each team, and the department as a whole.
• The UI makes it very easy to get a snapshot view of the staffing levels for set time period.
• Managing absences and arranging for shift swaps are also efficiently handled using Planday.

• Adding the ability for employee to be able to set up their own reminders would be beneficial for those that seem to forget to clock in or out

• Holiday functionality - currently under review, new system launching early 2017 which will improve accuracy, calculate balances and deliver a more user friendly experience
• Payroll reporting - data is not all relevant, could be more flexible
• Schedule - could be more flexible to show employees consistently working across the group on one schedule

Our team like the product and uses it so there is no reason to change. It works, it is easy, saves us time and headaches

Connecteam is far more robust in terms of features. The pricing is better too

Ultimately Planday is the perfect tool for simple straightforward team time management, communication and scheduling. I would like to see a task management feature added to Planday and perhaps some integration for employee rewards. Planday is leaps and bounds above Quickbooks Time, and TimeClock Plus but falls behind Deputy only slightly by having less features available. Overall I would recommend Planday to any small business owner with a team of 5-20

• Before Connecteam I hated "Payroll Mondays" because it took a few hours to do everyone's time and upload it for the accountant. Now it takes maybe 15 mintues to do the entire process. I feel like it is more accurate and definitely less time-consuming - saving me money in the long run.
• Connecteam has also allowed for quick glance time management to reduce overtime. Having accurate info allowing us to redeploy team members as needed and get other off the clock sooner. Or if we are having OT it is not a surprise - we can plan for it
• Our accountant has love the reporting and has even recommended it to other small business because it provides all the info needed.

• So much easier to manage than an Excel spreadsheet!
• The relatively low cost is completely outweighed by the time saved using Planday
