CrossKnowledge Learning Suite vs. Grovo, now part of Cornerstone LMS

CrossKowledge offers a superb library of learning content and a serviceable learning management system to go with it. If you’re looking for robust reporting or want to minimise the time you spend managing learning administration, you should look elsewhere.

Grovo is fantastic for bringing a team of people up to speed and for teaching a few things to a large audience. We found Grovo to be lacking when specific training is required or when the training required a certain level of skill. Grovo is fantastic for broad training, less so for specific depth training

• CrossKnowledge provides learning content across a wide array of subjects, and this content is delivered using various delivery methods (interactive e-learning, videos, reading material, activity journals, etc.)
• CrossKnowledge’s learning suite makes it easy to set up and roll out a highly customised learning management system.
• CrossKnowledge offers a mobile app that makes it easy to access both the learning management system as well as their learning content on the go.

• Ease to create trainings.
• Ability to insert GIFs and photos to help with visual aids.
• Ability to allow others to create trainings.
• Ability to track trainings (who has done it and who hasn't).
• Ease of tracking all training done.

• As a learning management system, CrossKnowledge’s backend is missing several key features for learning administrators
• It is immensely difficult to set up learning events and managing invitations to learners
• Reporting is extremely limited: you can only see the reports that CrossKnowledge seems necessary; you have very limited customisation options, and many of the basic reporting functions are simply impossible

• Some videos/lessons leave a lot to be desired and could use more detail.
• There's always more room for some more advanced skills.

CrossKnowledge’s learning content makes it a no-brainer. Besides, while their LMS isn’t as powerful or robust as we’d have liked, it’s still serviceable and most of our learners aren’t directly affected by it.

When we have had issues with Grovo not working or a problem with report we have always gotten an answer quickly. We have a rep that we speak to often to make sure we are satisfied with the system and is just a quick email away. It nice to know we have support that will get back to you in a quick manner as we rely on this software.

Moodle is a far more powerful and flexible learning management system for learning administrators. Where CrossKnowledge has the edge is in its fabulous learning content library.

The elephant in the room for me, would be TreeHouse. Grovo is very similar to TreeHouse in the fact that they're both programs with lesson tracks, simple and short videos, as well as progress trackers. I would have to say that I enjoyed learning coding on TreeHouse over Grovo, based on the wide variety of native coding languages they have implemented. Grovo, although extremely similar and easy to use as well, doesn't stack up to TreeHouse in my opinion. Grove does, however, beat out Lynda in my humble opinion

• It’s extremely difficult to evaluate ROI of a tool like CrossKnowledge, but it’s only been a little over a year since we rolled it out across the organisation and we’ve already made it part of our performance management system

• Zero impact. When we determined they were not a good fit for us, we decided to go another direction. I would certainly try them again however if they addressed my concerns as their service was excellent.
