CyberArk Workforce Identity vs. FreeRADIUS vs. ID.me

Centrify is a great solution for anyone looking to start using Office 365. It is also a great solution for anyone wanting to provide their users with an SSO solution using OAUTH, Federation, or SAML for any hosted service. If you are looking to use Centrify for MDM but you aren't using a hosted/hybrid email solution such as Office 365, there are better on-premise options that should be explored.

FreeRADIUS is completely scalable and supports both large and small user databases. Because it doesn't take up a lot of server resources, FreeRADIUS is well-suited for organizations with small budgets (it's in the name!) and limited networking hardware. While there is a port of it for Windows, FreeRADIUS is native to Linux so that would be a limitation for many companies who don't use it.

ID.me is well suited for our business to verify customers to provide a discount due to their top-notch software which is easy for our customers to use and is quick. Beyond customer experience, it has massive business benefits as it saves us a lot of time and money to use their white-glove software vs doing it ourselves as we did in the past using paper documents and our own people.

• Occasionally, I get logged out of Gmail, sometimes in the middle of an email. I'm not sure why it happens, but I think it has something to do with timing out. Which is strange because I'm on email all day. Not sure why.

• FreeRADIUS requires a 3rd party interface to make it easier to access (we use Daloradius) - it would nice if it was built in.
• Installation and configuration are pretty easy and straightforward but does require connecting to a database which can be cumbersome.

• Be able to verify people without them providing any documentation by getting access to needed databases where that information is stored.
• Be conscious that people do not like to provide their SS#.

Centrify is central to creating efficiency and safety for our clients and internally. To remove it would cause a massive disturbance in the lives of our employees and our clients.

The support staff thus far has been very helpful. At times I feel they are driving the process forward without my intervention or constant reminder, which is nice to have in a company for a change. Most support seems to be a hassle but so far Centrify appears to treat your project as their own project.

Centrify offered us more for our money by being more than just an SSO platform. There were several other features included such as MDM and MFA. This started other initiatives for us and felt the other solutions we evaluated would not have been able to provide.

We didn't evaluate any others. At the time ID.me had the largest customer base and I believe that still holds true.

• CyberArk Workforce Identity provides secure access to on-premises and cloud applications. The platform is highly scalable and works well for companies of any size.
• I can classify and label data. Also keep track of activity in shared applications and data, to know exactly who accesses each of the files.

• We previously used Microsoft Network Policy Server for our RADIUS authentication which works ok but was pretty clunky and requires Windows Server. Switching to FreeRADIUS brought our cost down to zero.
• Because FreeRADIUS works natively in Linux it's easy to setup and works with all distros.
• FreeRADIUS allows us to have user authentication for wifi which is much more secure than a simple shared password solution.

• Raises AOV for select segments
• Brings new customers to our store
