Likelihood to Recommend

Cyberduck

Really the only scenarios that I can think of that make Cyberduck a must-have are the ones I have already stated. File management on a remote server (such as Amazon S3) is what I use Cyberduck for, and therefore that's all I can really recommend it to be used for

Rocket Servergraph

Rocket Servergraph is well suited for any backup environment where the end user wants a more comprehensive understanding of their systems.I have not found one OEM supplied reporting system that can hold a candle to the job that Rocket does.

  • Trend analysis and historical reporting support capital expenditures

Cons

Cyberduck

  • The complexity in trying to configure and store SSH is odd for an FTP tool and probably the main drawback of Cyberduck.
  • Loads slowly and, at times, seems to have a slower transfer (upload/download) rate than other FTP applications.

Rocket Servergraph

  • It would be nice to have an administrator console for Networker and Datadomain the likes of the one in TSM which is so incredibly helpful.

Support Rating

Cyberduck

Cyberduck 7.6

When I did have a support request, I was less than pleased with the response.Firstly, it took a while to get a response. Secondly, I don't even think they addressed me directly--I got an automated response showing me that they had created an issue for it to be worked on in an upcoming release/update for the app. While the problem did get fixed, it never feels great to essentially get a response saying, "we'll add that to our list and maybe fix it some time in the future."

Alternatives Considered

Cyberduck

I've found other FTP clients, like FileZilla, to be more cumbersome and less user-friendly. The interface of Cyberduck is more "simplified." For a power user, this may seem "dumbed down," but for me, it's struck a fantastic balance of usability and power. Plus, at the price, you really can't complain
