Drawbridge (discontinued) vs. Inbenta Enterprise Search

It is well suited for small, targeted advertisements. I see this happening on a large scale and it is difficult to keep departments/groups/units separate from the individual, so incorrect, inappropriate, or just wrong recommendations are made all the time. The scale of your project I think determines whether this will be useful. A team under ~30/40 people, should work great. Larger than that and wires will be crossed, quality will plummet, and expectations will not be met.

If you are looking for an enterprise search platform that offers an easy to use interface and if high performance is not really your priority, then I believe Inbenta Enterprise Search would fit your use case. For most other situations, I would recommend using a tried and tested search platform like Apache Solr.

• Fairly easy to use interface.
• Quick to onboard new users, both in terms of access as well as training.
• The NLP-based semantic search feature is quite impressive.

• well, it's tracking you, so that's a problem
• IoT - connected to all smart devices
• user interface is only for advanced users
• can give incorrect and inappropriate links for setting
• difficult to control broad settings
• terrible customer support (what do you expect from LinkedIN)

• It is a fairly new tool in the market, so not much market feedback exists for this. This made us apprehensive in using it.
• The documentation and online forums are bare minimum.
• Quite buggy when working with multiple sources.

In hindsight, I wish we had picked any of the other options. Drawbridge is a letdown in cost, user ability, quality of service, and support. Though I have limited experience with the other software mentioned, they surely would not have been such a letdown - in so many areas, as Drawbridge is.

Apache Solr to Inbenta is like Java to Python. Apache Solr is powerful and handles complex search platforms well. Inbenta, on the other hand, is meant to be easy to use and does not lay too much emphasis on performance. If you are a small or medium business, Inbenta may suit your needs better. However, if you wish to manage a large and complex search platform, Solr is the way to go.
