Frame.io is great to use if you are someone that needs to share a lot of video. I could imagine it being used by wedding videographers, film videographers, news organizations, and nonprofits like us. It is also a great tool to add on and use if you use the Adobe Creative Suite. It does not have any editing tools, which is something you might assume it has with it being a video platform. Frame.io is best used for a curated and polished file management experience when collaborating with a team and enhancing the experience for the client or viewers of a pitch or presentation.

If you need to spice up your presentations but don't have the money/budget/team for full video production or animation, this software is for you. In skilled hands it can also look as good if not better than productions that would cost 5-6x more, including turnaround time. I think the basics of video still apply here, you want to have a story, a narrative, some storyboarding and an idea of where you want to go, but the tools this software provides will help you achieve that (and edit it later) quickly and efficiently

It's fast and customizable! You can import your own vector graphics and PNGs to utilize or take advantage of their huge library of resources, from graphics to icons and sound
You don't have to have a background in animation or graphics (though it doesn't hurt) to utilize the program, really expanding who in your company can take advantage of it
The support and resource documentation is amazing. From multiple series of videos to text-based help and I believe if i remember correctly even emails when I first signed up, it's hard to feel frustrated or lost with how to start with all the support available

Some of the vector rendering for imported pieces could still use work, I've discovered a workaround for adding a stroke to images to help smooth the edge but this can be tiring
The PNG rendering often seems to be under a super heavy compression and can pixellate even higher-res images that are brought in. I utilize almost exclusively custom created graphics to use in this program so seeing that fixed would be great
It would be nice if there was a super-basic audio editor in the program, even something that didn't do much but let you edit the start and end of clips

It works well for our small team, but we’ve run into some friction as things scale. Getting external users set up with the right access can be a bit of a hassle, and the cost starts to add up as we bring on more people and projects. That said, it’s still a solid tool, it definitely speeds up our workflow and works seamlessly with Adobe products.

Frame.io continues to lead with new features that enhance collaboration and review workflows. For a Creative agency, it's been a wonderful digital asset management and client collaboration tool, and more. The ease of uploading and adding stakeholders has had an incredible impact on customer response times, helping us retain and delight our clients.

When sharing videos for feedback, there are no noticeable performance issues with Frame.io. Everyone is able to complete their tasks without the program getting in the way.

The few times I have needed support I have received a quick response - though the one major complaint I have had is regarding the omission of an iPad app - supposedly it is in the works but I haven't seen it release yet. We do have issues with the browser being buggy - especially on slow internet. Whether or not that is something support has failed me on, i'm not sure - but they are responsive, but don't always provide immediate results.

Getting Frame.io up and running was relatively straightforward on the backend. Account setup, project organization, and uploading media were all intuitive. The real challenge came with client and stakeholder onboarding. Many users found the interface unfamiliar and intimidating compared to everyday tools, requiring repeated training sessions just to get basic feedback workflows functioning. Integrations with Adobe Premiere worked well for internal teams, though the desktop app felt underdeveloped. Overall, implementation was low-difficulty for tech-savvy editors but moderate-to-high when external collaborators were involved. With patience and proper onboarding documentation, most teams got up to speed within a few weeks.

We utilize both Synthesia and Frame.io for different projects. Frame.io we use for editing actual video content that has been captured. Primary use is for customer training and education. We use Synthesia for short-form video production, primarily for software screen recording demonstrations, and for translation functionality (which is excellent).

Every video or graphics program has its own purposes, VideoScribe is very specifically for taking images, moving them around with nice visual transitions and having something come together quickly. I've also used it to animate infographics in far less than half the time it would have taken me in Premiere. It definitely has serious limits in the type of animation you can do, which is important to be aware of, but if that works within the framework and scope of your budget, then it's incredible.
Remember - the only limits to how sophisticated you can make this look are how creative you are, to begin with. I did things with this program I don't think I'd seen in any of their samples, simply because I have a background in it all and had a new set of tools to play with.

Data portability rights were explicitly defined, ensuring we could export our assets without restriction if we ever chose to leave the platform. The single point deducted reflected the initial contract draft containing an auto-renewal clause with an uncomfortably short cancellation window, which required pushback to extend to a more reasonable notice period before signing.

They arrived with a clear methodology, asked the right discovery questions upfront, and tailored their approach to our specific production environment rather than applying a generic template. Training sessions were thorough, well-paced, and adapted to varying levels of technical comfort across our team. The one point deducted reflected occasional scheduling delays in getting specialized resources assigned during peak periods, and a few instances where documentation provided after sessions lacked the detail needed for independent troubleshooting. Overall though, their expertise and professionalism made a meaningful difference in our implementation success.

Won over $300k+ in new biz by changing from an old PowerPoint deck to a short (4-5 min) video and reframing how we shared the information
Modified the same deck to be shown at annual conventions as a less "pitch" and more "informational" way of educating the audience, and never saw as many people visiting our booth for information. Likely could attribute additional new biz leads to this effort as well
Got to save a LOT of money in the time and production of the deck which was then able to be utilized instead on other things to make future decks better, like a new microphone and better monitors. Seriously I can't believe how inexpensive this program is
