Overall Satisfaction with Frame.io

Every time we send out a video to a client, for review or for final delivery, we do it on the frame.io platform.
  • Allows clients to make frame-specific notes, so there is no confusion what they are talking about.
  • When multiple stakeholders are making notes, platform automatically sorts them chronologically in the video.
  • Multiple stakeholders giving notes can see when their note conflicts with a colleague's.
  • The navigation controls for reviewing video are quite good for an online platform, but the instructions for a non-video professional should be right there on the review screen.
  • Wish there was a way to use embed codes on the hosted videos so they could be embedded on our website portfolio page (or others).
  • Clients can make frame-specific notes
  • Clients can easily view and download in-progress and finished projects
  • It is a time saver because we don't have to track through email threads trying to find notes about past versions
  • In much the same way Slack works for colleagues being able to join a conversation at any point, frame.io allows additional stakeholders to join the review process at multiple points and review their colleagues notes. This reduced conflicting notes, or at least engages the stakeholders among themselves to arrive at a decision.
We use Vimeo for hosting videos on our portfolio page, and for that, Vimeo is superior. However for multiple stakeholders reviewing a video to give notes, frame.io seemed to be superior and more intuitive.

Did Frame.io live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Frame.io go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Frame.io again?

Yes

The best thing about frame.io (and the reason we subscribed to the service in the first place), is it is very easy for clients to give notes when reviewing videos we produce for them. It allows them -- forces them, actually -- to give frame specific notes, so there is no confusion about what shot they are talking about.

The one thing that would be nice would be another area for clients to make more global, general notes, so that both the global and specific notes could all be referenced in one place.

But overall, had this service for about three years and still very happy with it.
