Frontline Student Information System (SIS) vs. Jenzabar ONE

Frontline is perfect for managing student info, such as parental relationships, grades, IEPs, and other notes about each particular student. Frontline makes running reports quite easy, as you can group different info together for it to pull into a single report document. I wouldn't recommend Frontline for those wanting to do more detailed grading, or for those wanting to quickly enter information within a limited amount of time.

Jenzabar ONE is strongly suited for an all-in one solution for higher ed. The modern web-based platform make it efficient for end users. An institution that wants a full communication platform to connect with students, Jenzabar is the right product for your school. As with any product, development with Jenzabar One continues which is a good thing but also may cause some schools to want more features more quickly.

• Auto-save (it would be great to have information saved automatically because if I get distracted or if my browser freezes, I don't have to start from the beginning if I didn't get a chance to save).
• Freezing (sometimes when running more detailed reports or trying to quickly enter grades, the program will freeze for minutes at a time, and I'll have to refresh).

• Almost every module requires extensive training and building to have it function for your institution.
• Some of the automated housing matchings is difficult to set up and must be changed each semester.

While I'm familiar with many other SIS in higher education, J1 is the only one currently in use

• Frontline has helped streamline the way we manage student registration.
• We've had fewer user errors when using the Frontline software, likely because the UI is easy to navigate.
• We've been able to more closely care for students, as we can track information about them as they move from grade level to grade level.
