IBM Aspera on Cloud is an on-demand SaaS offering for global content transfer and exchange. It enables organizations to move large files and data sets securely and reliably across on-premises and multi-cloud environments at high speed. With Aspera on Cloud, organizations can store and access files and folders across multiple cloud-based and on-premises storage systems. Sharing among users is as simple as browsing or drag-and-drop — no matter where the files are stored — making…

ShareFile is a cloud-based file sharing and storage service built for business. The product was acquired by Citrix Systems in 2011, and is now offered by Progress Software.
My company used Dropbox before we implemented Aspera. When it comes to file security we felt more comfortable in Aspera. The file transfer speed especially uploading and downloading files using Dropbox was very low. We found it not that reliable when it came to file transfer. …
Initially the organization depended on services like Dropbox and Google Drive to share and store files for the graphic department as well as use their own private servers for storage. However, the speed for uploading and downloading wasn't reliable. Plus it lacked the central …
IBM Aspera on Cloud is the most effective and reliable platform for large file transfers. The transfer process is highly secured with end-to-end encryption to enhance data safety. It streamlines data management infrastructure with full data visibility and team controls. Sharing data across different geographical locations with my colleagues enables me to monitor workflows and intercept bottlenecks that can affect performance.
When we have a particularly large ad or job printing file that would "clog up" the email process, using ShareFile is very helpful. It's also useful for particular photographers we work with to upload a batch of photos all at once. Where it doesn't work as well for us is when trying to get clients to make use of a login to access folders. We find them reluctant to take on the learning curve. It works best for us when we just send them a clickable download link, and at most just require a tracking name and email address.
It helps transfer files at high-speed using its technology which adjusts speed based on network.
It also has automatic file transfer which is amazing since one doesn't have to wait and find the file then send it.
IBM Aspera on Cloud offers centralized file sharing which means one can create workspace for a specific team and doesn't need to put manual efforts to share something specific.
Workflows to get customer/affiliate responses to comments on documents.
I used to have the signature feature initially, but it was removed from the original plan, so I could only use it if I chose to select the higher plan price.
I love the upload notifications and reports on user activity.
The document storage versions are fantastic. I am the only user with Delete privileges, and I love that I can make those selections.
Integrations with Microsoft 365 - FANTASTIC - thank you.
An scope for improvement would be if IBM Aspera on Cloud allowed users to preview files (especially larger videos or images ) before tranfer and also can include a 2nd verification before sending files to reduce chances of errors .
In our Organzation we have three regional offices with different fireball configurations . The first time we tried transferring media files around 30 gb from our office other , it failed initially because certain ports were not open and permissions had to be adjusted in multiple steps .But once configured , transfers were quick .So setting up multiple remote office with varying network conditions can be confusing especially for new users .
The web console is not the most user friendly site to use to get to, and send my files.
We have had users that have not liked the change in workflow to get files from Progress ShareFile when they were used to just clicking on files on an email.
That management of the tools are not the most user friendly. There have been some improvements but keeping up with certs and setting up new users can be more work than expected.
1) It works. 2) Is is secure 3) It is fast It provides firms the ability to communicate with vendors other clients and new clients in a way that will help you grow your business. In our business, flies are getting larger larger and can hold companies back in their overall business goals.
It's a highly effective and secure storage system, has robust workarounds for serving the various equipment limits of our users, meets high security requirements of HIPAA standards, significantly reduces our needs for producing paper trails.
The interface is very pleasing and so easy to use. I have never used a program that was so simple and so effective. Other programs have too many unnecessary features and make everything really daunting and then you just go elsewhere. IBM Aspera is perfect for easy transfers with minimal features.
ShareFile is so easy to use I was able to download all of my projects files and have them set up to sync before my supervisor could even come over to explain the process to me. It is a neatly organized and intuitive software that allows even the less tech-savvy to become power users.
Easy to use, easy to integrate with Outlook. I only gave it a 9 because I have found that sometimes it does not play nicely with Outlook and can slow it down. But, when that happens (not frequent), I restart Outlook and all is well again
The support from IBM is fast and reliable. Very knowledgeable engineers provide you with the support on Aspera. We had a very good experience when opened tickets and we were able to get our issues resolved quickly. Most solutions are provided within a day so you can expect a quick turnaround time. Overall, the support has been very good.
Citrix was generally responsive and helpful in solving technical issues. Like any cloud based SaaS product there is a danger that it may go down. This was a rare occurrence over my three years of using the product. The more common issue we encountered was clients forgetting their login which was easily managed through a forgot password functionality.
The service provided by the authorized vendor was excellent. It was a good collaboration between the vendor IT team and internal IT team. They provided us with a timeline and we verified and approved that timeline. Daily stand ups and weekly meetups were conducted to update the internal team on progress. They were able to deliver all deliverables on time also, they conducted both alpha testing and beta version testing in time. Overall, they were able to complete the implementation in the given timeline.
Good documentation for the API. With a little help from RS tech staff, any competent programmer should be able to integrate RightSignature with an existing system in a week or three. That help is easy to get as well
These cloud storage products deliver sufficient space to store data and access and have an array of ways to transfer this data and keep it secure. IBM Aspera on Cloud focuses on the transfer and makes it a lot faster mainly due to its patented tech and altered UDP protocol. Since most of production code uses IBM services, it was natural to go with IBM Aspera on Cloud.
ShareFile is easier and does what you need. I have moved a few organizations from SharePoint to ShareFile. Just easier. You can setup different areas for different departments, setup their permissions and it is easy enough for them to do what they want in their zones. The mobile app works great as well. So you can all the features you really use from SP, but just easier to setup and use.
It is an outstanding product. It is proven and works well. IBM has thought of everything as the product works well and it can scale. I highly recomend this product.
All of our clients and consulting engineers find ShareFile easy to use, thus complementing our business.
Our staff also find ShareFile intuitive, accessible, and easy to use, making it an ideal, everyday indispensable desktop tool for everyone in our company.
ShareFile can be linked to our firm's primary website as a placed for private use. We haven't found need for this yet, but might in the future.
