    Code Engine's adaptability makes it a good fit for both solo programmers working on side projects and large teams taking on more ambitious endeavors. IBM Cloud Code engine is a great option for a serverless platform for startups and small enterprises that are using Platform as a Service. It's useful for keeping execution times low and offering generous caps on useful resources.

    After embracing IBM Cloud Kubernetes Service, it allowed us to run applications in a cloud provider-agnostic way and made it possible to introduce new products and the infrastructure to scale each autonomous team's idea. Migrating to IBM Cloud Kubernetes Service provided the flexibility and speed to deliver new products while significantly reducing the operational overhead.

    • Server-less platform that is automatically managed
    • Pay per use - scale to zero results in an extremely cheap total cost of ownership.
    • There is no need for you to set the size, deploy, or scale container clusters yourself.
    • Auto scaling is always helpful and easy to use.

    • IBM has a strong focus on serverless and Kubernetes. This shows in the platform. Deploying containers to Kubernetes was very easy.
    • Deploying a Kubernetes cluster through the GUI is very easy and quick. On top of that, IBM Cloud offers a single node cluster for Free.
    • Container Registry is a very good product for managing container images. Integration with Kubernetes was seemless.
    • Portability. To transition from Google Cloud Kubernetes to IBM Cloud Kubernetes took almost no effort. We mostly use the CLI and the standard tools such as kubectl were present.

    • Documentation - This can be more detailed and exhaustive. It might be intentional as the complexities are hidden away or abstracted to give an easy start for developers.

    • Currently, the pricing for the instances is quite high (30% higher than major vendors), so that needs to be worked on.
    • VM spinup times are slower than most major cloud vendors, if GCP only takes 60 seconds on average, IBM Cloud takes more than 10 minutes. This should be faster and could use more improvement
    • While providing a barebones dashboard for Kubernetes is great, I believe having the IKS service to have its own managed dashboard is better than providing the upstream Kube's dashboard.

We liked the adaptability and versatility that IBM Cloud Kubernetes Service give us. Since we are tiny, the Kubernetes administration is just utilized at present inside my venture bunch.

        The self-guided support was solid, and there are plenty of online videos to guide first time users, but I think one area of improvement is a faster way to transfer a large quantity of files from our local machine to the cloud for storage (Aspera)

        Online training is really an important resource for using these tools. IBM's help center is rich in useful information and tips. Also, external guides and tutorials are available (e.g. on youtube), but I followed only IBM ones and I had no difficulties.

        Ease of use. Very intuitive. We have been looking for a product that allows us to orchestrate our docker containers in a way where it allows us to effectively scale our applications to production. It also provides us a way of monitoring all our infrastructure in a very clear concise way.

        Cloud engine is much easier to use, and gives a very clear interface and control. Each application can be configured differently with ease and changed without having to know anything about different subscription levels or inner workings of the system. Just change the resource numbers and you're done. Also there is no maintenance or even that much planning to do (making sure there are the right amount of resources in a cluster..). This is all taken care of

        • Code Engine is so simple that it only takes a few hours to have the service ready to be used.
        • Some missing tools make you waste time looking for other services to integrate.

        • More predictable than spinning up new virtual servers for expansion (Charged by API).
        • Adaptation of all standards including Docker, MongoDB, Node-RED, allows leveraging of existing and Open Source code more reliably to reduce costs.
