Katalon Studio vs. SpiraTest

Free trial version is fine but you don't get the adequate support and VFM for the licensed version. Customer service needs to be improved a lot and any QA's with less technical background or less time to troubleshoot issues in the software on their own would find it difficult to use.

I think SpiraTest is well suited as a test suite, but in situations where the team is already using multiple products from one particular provider, it may be better to go with that provider's test solution. This is because integrations are very important nowadays, and should be considered when picking your project management software. It should be noted that management selected SpiraTest primarily due to the low cost of the test software. I'm less familiar with other test software in the field, but if cost is an issue, you should take a look at SpiraTest.

• Katalon Studio supports only grovvy language for now. It will be nice to see support for other scripting languages.

• Debug button is provided only to licensed owner since Katalon 7+ version.
• New tool, few resources available to learn. So there is a mild learning curve here.

• Basic reporting can become very verbose unless you set lots of filters and parameters.
• The ability to customize some of the verbiage in the application would help bridge the gap between translating what SpiraTest's testing terminology is and the company culture uses for testing terminology.

I love the support. They have provided answers and solutions for most of our questions or doubts that could come up. They also have provided basic tutorials on how to get familiarized with the program.

As promised during product selection, SpiraPlan support has always been quick and helpful. Replies almost always come back in hours (and often in an hour or two). And SpiraPlan's online tech support maintains all support conversations online so no need to look through emails to try to recall repllies.

Katalon Studio License cost is reasonable and it suits the budget where as other tools are expensive and its difficult to get right ROI. Capabilities are user friendly while using the Katalon Studio for api, mobile , web and desktop application automation where as expensive fails to provide certain basic user friendly factors

• Able to create a Jenkins pipeline for DevOps saving sufficient time by running nightly.
• The manual tester can also automate making testing becomes faster.
