Kudos

When a colleague shows a "Get it Done" attitude where he/she identifies problems and/or risks and then proactively taking action to resolve or escalate them without waiting for someone else to notice them I give them a kudos. When a teammate shows best practice through experience and research, one’s ability to willingly share with others, the trends and knowledge that reflect the leading practices in a particular subject I give them a kudos. When a colleague demonstrates efficiency in improving speed, achieving savings, or simplifying processes or systems for the business I give them a kudos. When one conducts themselves to ensure that the company maintains a reputation for corporate integrity, sound professional principles, and values that promote the company's mission I give them a kudos.

Maestro

Maestro is great for managing my membership and is terrific with reservations. At this time I am not sure if there is any scenario where it is less appropriate. I guess it doesn't work well as an interface for a golf shop, for tee times, etc. And, any golf product we get doesn't speak well with Maestro, so maybe golf. But, they may have a solution for that too.

Pros

Kudos

  • Encourages employees to go above and beyond!
  • Encourages our staff to make an effort to support our employees by handing out KUDOS for good deeds or for bright ideas that help innovate the company.
  • Helps our leaders make informed decisions on good staff by viewing the distribution of KUDOS to our employees and helps maintain a level of professionalism between the employees.

Maestro

  • Creating a completely customized rubric to grade tickets on the things you want to help your team grow in
  • Allowing managers to track how their agents are doing as well as providing concrete examples of work product for 1:1 meetings
  • Giving management peace of mind that agents are responding appropriately to clients

Cons

Kudos

  • I think Kudos could use some UI enhancements as it can be a bit much info at one time
  • I believe Kudos could probably do a better job guiding administrators in setting up their organization kudos page/system to maximize its appearance and layout

Maestro

  • No ability to view contact information from a home screen (must click into profile to see phone number)
  • Feels a bit archaic
  • Would be nice to see "flags" or ways to mark students for calling
  • Wish that the 'attempted call' option turned a student yellow instead of keeping them red

Maestro is what we are comfortable with and probably what we'll stay with, but it can be slow at times and lacks certain functionalities

I love Maestro support! They are always available or get back to you quickly. The employees that work at Maestro must get treated well because they are always positive and patient on the phone with me. And, even though I am not great with technology they always help me find a solution.

Alternatives Considered

Kudos

It is the best reward and recognition program I have come across so far as a team member and leader who is focused on successful completion of projects and being goal oriented. It gives one a chance to publicly reward a team/member. Such motivation spurs healthy competition and growth among members.

Maestro

We selected Maestro over Qualitista and some hacked together Google Sheets scripts that performed similar functions. At the time Qualitista was in its early alpha stage and wasn't something that would have worked for our team. The Google Sheets script worked well for a small team, but didn't allow us to do what we wanted with peer feedback. The team at Maestro did a great job onboarding us and adding features for our peer feedback use case.

Return on Investment

Kudos

  • Invests in the employee, who in turn invests with the company.
  • Distributes rewards fairly and helps track progression within the company.
  • Allows for others to see what others are doing when they are doing it well, thus it inspires greatness.

Maestro

  • At one point our step pricing was not working properly so we did lose some room revenue. Maestro helped us get this resolved.
  • Maestro saves time, which saves money, by having all of our member billing, reservations and more in one location.
  • No other impacts that I can think of.
