OwnBackup vs. SysCloud

OwnBackup is a great solution for anyone wanting to backup their Salesforce data reliably. It is also a great solution for archiving older records that still need a UI that allows users to easily access those records in the future.

The native Salesforce weekly export tool is not a sufficient backup solution. It must be run manually and can not be run more frequently than once a week. The resulting backups are a collection of CSV files. OwnBackup automatically backs up your data daily and has a web interface to search and manage your backups.

The district will be transitioning to Datto Backupify. Datto Backupify is more financially suitable to the needs of the district. Additionally, some of the features in SysCloud are available within the Google Workspace Admin Console.

• The archiving features of this product have had an ROI of $18K for storage costs recurring annually
• We have not had to do a full restore of backups, but if we did loose data and have to perform a full restore OwnBackup would easily become our most valuable tool
