For Utilities organizations, Acumatica demonstrates a mixed but promising capacity to address specific operational challenges, particularly in managing extensive infrastructure and complex material flows. While the dataset is limited, 2 of 6 reviewers highlighted the platform's ability to support industry-specific needs. One reviewer from a public utility specifically noted the efficacy of the projects module in planning and controlling the constant maintenance required for infrastructure. Another, from the plastics recycling sector, found Acumatica instrumental for tracking raw materials, byproducts, and finished goods, alongside its use by accounting for error detection. This suggests that Acumatica can be adapted to core Utilities functions that require robust project management and detailed inventory tracking, though broader industry-specific requirements like regulatory compliance or specialized field service integrations are not extensively covered in these reviews.

Utilities operations are characterized by significant infrastructure assets requiring continuous maintenance and complex material management. Two of six reviewers identified that Acumatica offers features that can be leveraged to address these core challenges, specifically mentioning its project management capabilities for infrastructure and detailed tracking for materials. This indicates a potential fit for certain operational aspects unique to the industry, though the overall sentiment is mixed due to limited direct evidence for broader utilities-specific functionalities.

Public utilities have high amounts of infrasture that is in need of constant maintenance. The projects module has given us the ability to better plan and control these projects.

I work in the plastics recycling industry. Acumatica allows us to track all RM's, byproducts, and FG's. It also is heavily used by accounting, and they often find errors by using the built in tools in Acumatica.
