AlertMedia - The Right Choice

Rating: 10 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use AlertMedia for event notification in our company, with a primary emphasis on weather related events. We have used the platform for 4 years. We have watched the technology grow and become more refined, adding additional feature to improve the user experience. I would rate their customer service as best in class among vendors I have interfaced with. Their hurricane prep briefings are a huge value in our severe weather notification program. I think what I value most is I am "heard" when I have issues and have the opportunity interface with developers and decisions makers to have input to improve the notification processes to provide the most benefit to assist our sites.

Pros

  • Customer Service
  • Listening to the needs of the customer
  • Simplicity to send messages

Cons

  • Adding maps to indicate the affected area with e-mail notifications

Likelihood to Recommend

The AlertMedia platform helped us with several key events, including an F3 tornado near one of our sites and a police situation in a residential neighborhood near our office. With both events, the mapping features allowed us to quickly understand our associates who may be impacted/affected and follow-up with them in a timely and efficient manner.

AlertMedia Review

Rating: 9 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We needed a comprehensive solution to quickly reach potentially thousands of people in several different countries. We had challenges with finding a single solution that would allow granular access, but at the same time provide multimodal communications. And, an app would be nice.

Pros

  • Supports multiple countries with local or short code access numbers
  • Very quickly sends multimodal messages simultaneously
  • Provides good feedback for message sending, including options to resend to non-responsive people
  • Very good Threat Intelligence options, including immediate notifications through subscriptions, and weekly TI summaries.

Cons

  • The options for Threat Intelligence management through notifications could be a little better, including options to forward a link to a TI alert (not requiring login) to those in a TI affected area.
  • Some improvement in sorting options, although current options are useful.
  • Better integration with digital signage and other display platforms by providing an option for shortened messaging specifically for these devices as an option in the new notification screen.

Likelihood to Recommend

AlertMedia is absolutely critical for any type of emergency or weather-related situation where immediate notification is required. It is also valuable as a secondary collaboration source for management discussion and decisions. Finally, it is well suited for business continuity scenarios where typical communications platforms are unavailable.

AlertMedia is great, it has been a wonderful addition to our company!

Rating: 10 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use AlertMedia to send mass messages to our internal and external employees. AlertMedia is used to gather information on who is interested in certain assignments and to discover an ETA of when they will arrive on an assignment. We have also used AlertMedia to create specific groups to add into profiles to help us know information about individuals based on their profile and know what blasts to send them.

Pros

  • Send messages
  • Keep track of responses

Cons

  • Searching by different areas of personal information

Likelihood to Recommend

We use AlertMedia to send highly important messages to nurses that have deployed with us. We have used it to send messages to our current internal employees also. When we send messages out to people who have showed interest in working with us, we know what they are interested in by their profile information and their work specific groups.

Real-time Alerts

Rating: 8 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

AlertMedia is currently being used to send organization-wide notifications regarding serious incidents, inclement weather, activation for immediate response activities and workplace injuries. Since we have several satellite offices and offices in remote locations, AlertMedia allows for real-time notifications across the agency or the select groups. Middle management leaders and above have mobile access to submit alerts as needed.

Pros

  • Real-time notifications are a must for all urgent matters.
  • Organization-wide and smaller, identified groups can be developed for AlertMedia notifications.

Cons

  • A build-in template for notifications about various activities (weather, injury, etc.) would help make alerts more systematic in both appearance and content.

Likelihood to Recommend

Large organizations, projects in remote locations, specific work or leadership groups, and regular need for whole-organization notifications would benefit from use of AlertMedia. Mobile access provides the quickest notification, however; online use allows for improved editing of notification message. Small organizations may have a lower ROI when comparing total employees to overall cost of product.
