Use Cases and Deployment Scope

AlertSite is used in our organization to monitor our website and web applications in real-time to collect the super important metrics reflecting web page load time but from the user end (E2E) and that approaches helps us to understand what our website is experiencing in real-time.

Pros

  • What I have noticed so far is the fact that the AlertSite customer support team is trying to build relationships and go the extra mile to make sure we can overcome any occurring issues and they are quick to respond and provide sufficient guidance for implementing efficiently and fixing products issues.
  • Tool has very handy and easy UI.
  • It is very well in end to end Application URL monitoring and Front page URL monitoring.

Cons

  • Monitoring locations would have issue and cause false positive alerts.
  • Dashboard is unavailable at times or sometimes lags for minutes cause the monitoring team found slowness.

Return on Investment

  • A negative thing is Monitoring locations would have issues and cause false-positive alerts and due to that monitoring team's repetitive work has increased.
  • A positive thing that I have noticed so far is the fact that the AlertSite customers support team is trying to build relationships and go the extra mile to make sure we can overcome any occurring issues and they are quick to respond and provide sufficient guidance for implementing efficiently, and fix products issues.

Pros

  • The Deja-Click Recorder is an excellent tool.
  • Good UI that translates to large NOC screens well.
  • Easy Alerting and Reporting.

Cons

  • Support is inconsistent at times in terms of quality and response.
  • Monitoring locations would have issues.
  • Dashboard would go unavailable at times or lag behind.

Return on Investment

  • Negative, if anything, due to the astronomical cost of the platform and the scaling cost. We eventually swapped to another provider for a fraction of the cost, with an acceptable loss of functionality.
  • Issues from time to time with transaction recordings meant we would have to start again.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

AlertSite is an awesome tool for end-to-end, front-page website monitoring and API monitoring. AlertSite helps us to solve our problem to monitor website availability. It helps us to catch website failures. AlertSite tool is very easy to understand and very user-friendly. I have used it to monitor application website, setting up alerts. We can create dashboards to monitor all failures or website slowness. We can also add instructions in the alert while creating.

Cons

  • Tool is complicated for Alert creation
  • AlertSite GUI need improvement. As compared to Datadog, it needs improvement in GUI
  • While using AlertSite, many times we faced false alerting, they need to take a look at it to improve performance.

  • AlertSite helps us capture website failures, this helps us to provide 100% uptime as promised with clients.
  • We observed issues from AlertSite many times but their support is fast and helpful.
  • It needs improvement to avoid false alerting as it wastes the time of the support person and can cause a business impact.
