Amazon WorkDocs

Amazon WorkDocs is a document sharing and content collaboration platform. It can be used to Migrate existing content from legacy network file shares and on-premises enterprise content management (ECM) systems to the cloud, or connect internal and external teams in a secure platform. Files sync automatically and can be accessed online or offline. Integrations can bring WorkDocs into existing workflows.

WorkDocs is available for a monthly per user fee, but Amazon WorkSpaces users receive access to WorkDocs for no additional charge. This includes 50 GB of storage per WorkSpaces user. For a discounted rate, WorkSpaces user can be upgraded to use 1 TB of storage.

Each individual user account on Amazon WorkDocs includes 1 TB of storage capacity by default, for almost any kind of file. Administrators can set storage limits for individual users and also purchase additional storage for users on a pay-as-you-go basis. There is no limit on the amount of additional data and number of documents that can be stored.

A new version of a file is created every time it is saved. With Amazon WorkDocs, all feedback is associated with a specific file version, so it is easy to refer back to comments in earlier iterations. Any specific version of an owned file can be delted to manage data limits or to help protect and secure data.

Amazon WorkDocs Smart Search speeds up content searches, letting users search across document content, comments, and labels in addition to file and folder names. Search can be refined by content location, last updated time and date range, and specific file types. Results will display as a sorted list, with folders listed before files.

With WorkDocs Drive offline capabilities, content can be accessed even when network connectivity is limited.

Links can be public or shared only to specific users.

With Amazon WorkDocs, others can be invited to view, contribute to, or co-own files by entering user names, group names, and email addresses. Specific feedback with a personal message and also a deadline can be requested. To share content externally, an invite to an external user can be created to create guest account the first time they log in to Amazon WorkDocs.

With a single click directly from Windows File Explorer on a Windows PCs using Amazon WorkDocs Companion, the Amazon WorkDocs Companion application, installed on a Windows device, can upload files to an Amazon WorkDocs site and share them with a link automatically copied to a clipboard.

Amazon WorkDocs applies controls to who can access, comment, and download or print files. Files can be locked from changes and to ensure that edits are not overwritten by other contributors, eliminating the need to coordinate changes. Feedback can also be disabled.

With Amazon WorkDocs, content is encrypted in transit and at rest to ensure the security of data and help meet regulatory and compliance requirements.

With Amazon WorkDocs Tasks, action items that are pending, assigned, and resolved can be reviewed in one place. Types of tasks can include sending content out for review, requesting access to a file, transferring ownership of a file, and requesting action from a site administrator.
