I use Apollo.io daily for outreach. We use it to find verified emails and contact numbers and build out lists and segments.

We used Apollo.io professionally for about a year. In that time, we found it was very effective in adding the prospect search and contact function. I was very impressed with the ability to create and run strategic contact sequences with email, phone and manual steps. The prospect targeting and intent signals were also very helpful. We found the contacts in the database were also reliable. I'm guessing some industries have higher/lower success rates with this type of outreach. In the end, it was less impactful for us then we hoped for, but the tool itself was very reliable and robust. I also liked how it can automate searches of new contacts that meet your sales targeting strategies.

I use Apollo.io to find the correct contact information for marketing targets. Over the years I have used many and none have I found as accurate as Apollo.io. I get correct cell phone numbers, correct email direct dials and much much more. I would also recommend Apollo.io for those hard to reach contacts.

  • Its integration with Linkedin is a added benefit
  • Helped me to increase my production.

Cons

  • It does have a bump or to when it comes to the linkedin integration. Sometimes its slow to respond
  • easier list building
  • Integration with phone system for click to dial

If you need a phone number for a person you need to talk to. There have been situations where Apollo.io was so accurate that the contact was blown away I even had his cell number. Apollo.io is a great tool for any call center looking for accurate data. That all I got

I use Apollo.io for smart prospecting by using the buying intent filters and company size. All my net-new sales have been closed-won due to Apollo.io and having access to their direct phone numbers. It has been a game changer to have buying intent and the right contact info to go after. It also saves a lot of time to have access to emails vs not having any tools and having to do lots of research to identify email formats for companies.

  • Please improve UX for company profiles. I want to be able to expand and minimize sections.
  • I dont like that I can access my saved contacts directly through the extension when im on the company profile, which we were able to do in the past.

Likelihood to Recommend

It's very affordable for an individial license (my company does not offer any sales tools). You get a lot of cool features to help use your time wisely to sell. Its not the easiest tool to use, but its nice that there is a support team we can set up a call with to learn how to use the tool well.

Apollo.io is an excellent platform for smaller B2B businesses looking to sell to smaller customer bases. We used it as both a database for phone numbers and emails of prospects as well as a sequencing tool for outbound messaging. The platform has also expanded to include signal tracking for prospect engagement with your company as well as many enrichment features.

Pros

  • Apollo.io is very good for ad hoc enrichment
  • Apollo.io has a very large database ranging from very small to very large businesses
  • Apollo.io automatically populates key data points tracking interaction with prospects.

Cons

  • Apollo.io's sync to Salesforce is incredibly finnicky and created a large number of duplicates.
  • Apollo.io's workflow functionality is rigid and doesn't play nicely with middleware like Zapier.
  • Apollo.io is focused on helping you spin up many different emails and phone numbers in a spammy manner instead of focusing on domain reputation.

Likelihood to Recommend

I would place it as a 7, though it wouldn't really rate that way for any one person; it is a natural to start building an outbound business around, but one that you are likely to outgrow once you have a fair amount of data on your ideal customer profile and need higher quality pipeline data.

  • sometimes its difficult to understand why emails are not being sent

We use Apollo.io primarily for data enrichment across our Sales and Marketing teams. Our primary use case is enriching contact information (emails and mobile numbers) for prospects in order to get in contact with them directly through marketing campaigns and sales outreach.

  • Synching directly with our CRM

  • Finding email addresses on new contacts
  • Matching data with contacts who have common names

Likelihood to Recommend

For our specific use case, I would certainly recommend Apollo.io to a colleague because it provides us with a tool that significantly increases our top of funnel conversion. Given the industry that we sell into, we're oftentimes making calls to office lines where a gatekeeper picks up the phone, which makes it challenging to reach the prospect or decision maker directly, and Apollo.io has helped us circumvent this significantly by enriching contact data with direct and mobile numbers.

In my opinion, Apollo.io is a much better cost effective version compared to Zoom and just as accurate.
