Pros
Users and lists easy to set up
Segments are helpful to reuse lists
Administration through UI is easy
Cons
Tech support is limited for standard users, especially during non business hours even for critical errors
Installation/upgrade is often complicated
Version releases are too frequent
Likelihood to Recommend
It is helpful for small/mid-sized organisations. User support of large organisations is often limited, and performance can potentially degrade.
Aurea ListManager is being used to manage and distribute information for various retail industries.
Pros
Reports: extensive reporting on mailings and membership. Pre-built reports/charts include Mailings, Members, Server Performance, Web site, Purchases, Interest and Surveys. If Aurea ListManager doesn't have the built-in chart needed, you can easily create your own.
Easy to analyze mailings: Completed mailing can be analyzed quickly. Options include viewing any errors that may have resulted, and checking list performance, evaluating recipient actions, ( opens, click-troughs). Details can be seen on a per-recipient basis, allowing you to see exactly what happened with each message sent.
Discussion Lists. There are numerous list setting to customize each list.
Cons
Interface, needs a modern look.
HTML Editor and built in templates. Would be nice if they added up to date templates for responsive design. It's easy to create a responsive design template but it has to be made in a different program, copied and pasted into the editor.
Ideally with API you can integrate LM with any other programs. Too many competing programs have this all ready done so the end user can use it immediately.
Likelihood to Recommend
It's a good fit for companies that have several departments that need separate mailing lists under the same domain.
LM is an excellent Discussion List Medium: plenty of features (all open to customization), has searchable archives and easy for members to use.
No drop and drag features, does not look up-to-date considering what it can do.
Template creation can be a pain.
It does do marketing, Unit Price, Quantity, Product/SKU#, Interest Stage and Interest Points. You can use a purchasing script or shopping cart application can then dynamically update these variables with information about the customer's purchase, which then is sent to LM However it takes some effort to set this up.
We are a self funded non-profit museum and periodically need to do special events as a fund raiser. When these events arise we find it easier and more efficient to use Lyris LM to advertise or get the information out about said event, over running an ad in the local newspaper. Several different departments in our museum have access to Lyris LM. As far as the business problems that it addresses, we find that is is more cost efficient, and less labor intensive to to use Lyris LM.
Pros
You can create customized reports based on your needs for each mailing.
It handles Bounces great
Affordable, based on other options out there we have found Lyris to be more affordable in the long run.
Cons
It would be great to see drop and drag templates.
Lyris needs to be able to work better with other programs.

Lyris LM is suited well with an organization or group that have several lists, as virtual list hosting is not represented by any other hosting company as far as I can tell.
Distributing an eblast is rather simple and quick through Lyris LM. My favorite feature is the ability to create eblast content outside of Lyris, have it uploaded into the system, then tested and distributed.
Cons
The reporting offered in our version of Lyris LM is very weak. The system does not seem to capture CTR (click through rates) anymore. The final report tells me little to nothing about the success of the distributed eblast. The dashboards available when logging in are blank for the most part.
Likelihood to Recommend
Lyris LM is not a bad software, it just does not meet our needs anymore. Because we are unable to renew to a current version of Lyris for budget reasons, I have begun the process of looking into use of a new software already utilized by other departments in our office.
