I use Budgyt for budgeting and forecasting in our nonprofit, which previously relied on a cumbersome Excel system. Budgyt is intuitive and easy to use, though improvements in automation would be beneficial. The setup was straightforward and I'm very likely to recommend it, rating it a 10.
Pros
expense to budget
automation
SUPPORT
Cons
Would love to see more automation

We are a $10million nonprofit and so far, I have not found a scenario that Budgyt is not well suited. I have challenged them on several fronts and in each scenario, they have worked with me to ensure the Budgyt works for me.

I use Budgyt to manage the budget and financial reporting for our non-profit organization. It allows us to easily view actuals and update projections using our cost-centered model. I love the ease of dissecting financial information through multiple dashboard views.
Pros
Provides multiple ways to view the data
Allows for multiple scenarios
Allow easy comparison to prior periods
Cons
Data entry screen can be a little cumbersome.

This works really well for managing our non-for-profit organization's budget. Providing access to our staff to view and update financial projections.
I was building the budget in Excell and I had to fill in each amount in the budget fields, which was very frustrating, time-consuming and with the risk of errors in the budget. In Budgyt, I got rid of this chore because I bring my amounts through imports from all the sources used for collecting information and I can focus more on analysis now.
Pros
It has well-developed import functionalities which facilitates importing from external sources, making it easier to complete the budget, regardless of the source of the data.
It has very flexible reporting possibilities, which makes it very efficient to analyze and present the budget, once the data has been imported or completed.
It has well-developed security and role management specifications for users, including an audit of user operations in the application, which ensures transparency in the way it works and facilitates the correction of any errors by the people who have a verification role in the platform.
Cons
My first impression was that there is no room for negotiation on the price that initially seemed a bit high to me, but it is the first budgeting application purchased, probably the advantages of the application will far exceed the initial purchase price.
Likelihood to Recommend
In my case, the problem was that I had a lot of different data sources and I would bring this data into an Excell file and then build all kinds of spreadsheets and other files for various reports. Budgyt allows me to centralize this data in a much more efficient way than I did in excel, and the reports in Budgyt are very good and it saved me from the additional processing I was doing in Excell.

Budgyt is our financial planning and analysis software, used primarily for distribution of monthly financials to all department heads and for the annual budget build/approval process
Pros
Budgyt has a strong hierarchy structure (i.e. department, program, project) for roll up of various functions into their department
Allocation of shared costs, especially salary and benefits across various funding sources
Quick and easy switching between views (i.e. actual to budget, 3-year actual trend, 3-year budget trend)
Cons
Visualizations integration into core product
Balance Sheet functionality in core product
Likelihood to Recommend
Budgyt is great for instant consolidation of a multi-department and multi-entity organization. It has strong hierarchy and roll-ups at various levels. User setup and security is straightforward, with ability to restrict data to only department heads over a project. Excellent capability in salary and benefit calculation, for instance down to each type of state and federal tax, and each type of employee health benefit with individual cost as specific as necessary. Strong export functionality.
we use Budgyt to manage expenses and provide consistency in reporting. it is integrated with Business Central, our accounting software.
Budgyt is easy to use both for accounting purposes as well as the departmental staff who are responsible for their budgets.
Most important, Budgyt provides excellent customer support and is very responsive.
Pros
easy to use
nice consolidating roll up
easy to select roll up options
Cons
I havent noticed any missing functionality
Likelihood to Recommend
it is very easy to set up multiple scenarios. you don't need to be an accountant to utilize the software and provide input. Import and export Budgyt data and actual data is easy to use. customer support was very helpful in customizing the report format to accommodate our accounting software. I do not use the balance sheet in Budgyt though it is an available feature. I also do not use much of the formulas in our current environment but did use it at a previous company.

ACSM uses Budgyt to build our annual operating budget, produce and view regular periodic financial reports, and complete ad hoc data analysis. Budgyt is very user-friendly and flexible, and easy to administer, which is great considering that most of our users are non-finance folks. Budgyt is very intuitive and easy to follow, enabling successful navigation and use of financial info for our entire organization.
Pros
budgeting: building annual budgets from the ground-up
financial reporting: Budgyt includes a number of great options for navigating financial reports
analysis (& reporting): the ease and flexibility of configuring and using data tools allow for detailed analysis, and numerous options for accessing data to enable effective analysis and reporting views
Cons
minor: a desired quality of life improvement would be to alter the way things are presented/navigated via the sidebar - in some cases, it can mean repeatedly toggling between multiple tabs or going back and forth between different screens when it could be more efficient and less tedious if done differently
major: having access to real-time data is a priority, therefore relying on manual import/export of financial data from Sage Intacct is not ideal. Budgyt has promised that live integration with Sage's API is coming, but it has yet to be delivered.
Likelihood to Recommend
Budgyt's value for the money is exceptional. the system is very approachable - implementation, initial setup, training, and getting up to speed with regular use was a breeze. support has been exceptional ever since implementation. the system seems straightforward and can be exceptionally simple if limited in use, or more complex based on utilization of advanced features. execution is great across the board, and the support tools available to navigate any uncertainty about using the product is incomparable.
We mainly use Budgyt as our budgeting software. Previously we used spreadsheets with links that often broke or were corrupted. We are able to set up different scenarios without overriding the original data.
Pros
Tailored to your agency needs
User friendly and intuitive
You don't have to enter the same information in different sections as they are all connected.
Cons
Need interface with Microsoft Dynamics 365

The forecasting function helps with completing the budget. The software has many features that allow you to forecast/budget based on a flat % or a certain seasonality. My favorite feature is being able to allocate staff based on the revenue. As you make changes to the budget it recalculates and allocates appropriately.

We use Budgyt to create our budget for the current year. We use it for Forecasting future years and can even compare the forecasts for multiple scenarios. The reporting feature is used to created detailed reports specific for whichever employee needs it. Our monthly financial data is entered and reviewed on Budgyt as comparisons is much easier.
Pros
Forecasting
Reports
Budget/Data Comparison
Formulas and KPIs
Cons
Importing could be more user friendly.
Likelihood to Recommend
Monthly reviews are easier since it can create specific reports that are structured by however we want. Forecasting future years is easy. Comparisons between budgets is simple along with previous years with comparing them to your current year.
We use Budgyt to forecast and budget for our business and compare to actuals. We also use it for management reporting to department heads because it allows us to restrict what they can and can't see through permissions, rather than having to create multiple spreadsheets. As more than 95% of our cost is associated with employees and contractors located around the globe using spreadsheets to forecast costs is extremely difficult. Budgyt makes this process easy.
Pros
Permission levels, and aggregating sensitive GL categories
Payroll and contractor costing and forecasting
Multiple currencies
Cons
Only thing I would like to see is a report that uses actuals and budget to forecast the whole financial year
Likelihood to Recommend
It's most appropriate for P&L (Income statement) and payroll cost forecasting and budgeting. It's not appropriate for balance sheet forecasting. I would say it's most useful in the small to medium business space, probably not for very large enterprises. However, the solutions that are suitable for large complex enterprises don't really work for smaller businesses anyway.
We use Budgyt to create and report against budgets at multiple levels in the organization. We have integrated Budgyt with Quick Books Online to rapidly bring in actual financials to report against the budget. We also use Budgyt workflows to manage out budgeting process.
Pros
Quickbooks integration
Multiple levels to report against and rollup for consolidation
Very strong support during implementation
Streamlined user interface comfortable with non-technical user community
Cons
Major changes to roll-ups over time may need tech support
Some modules of Budgyt will not be needed by many users (ie employee records)
Online learning library is comprehensive but could be more polished.
Likelihood to Recommend
Best suited if moving from Excel spreadsheets for budgeting, and if Quickbooks Online is your financial system of record. Less suited for organizations using more sophisticated accounting systems, or with a need to report against multiple sub-ledgers such as grants.
