Overall Satisfaction with Budgyt

We use Budgyt to create and report against budgets at multiple levels in the organization. We have integrated Budgyt with Quick Books Online to rapidly bring in actual financials to report against the budget. We also use Budgyt workflows to manage out budgeting process.

Pros

  • Quickbooks integration
  • Multiple levels to report against and rollup for consolidation
  • Very strong support during implementation
  • Streamlined user interface comfortable with non-technical user community

Cons

  • Major changes to roll-ups over time may need tech support
  • Some modules of Budgyt will not be needed by many users (ie employee records)
  • Online learning library is comprehensive but could be more polished.
  • Eliminating excel spreadsheet errors and budgeting re-do's
  • More streamlined budgeting workflows - faster process measured in weeks
  • One-touch integration with accounting system - literally 10 seconds
Once implemented it is simple to use and not intimidating to non-technical or non-financial users. But implementation requires a methodical process, and must be completely aligned with existing financial infrastructures, such as a Chart of Accounts.
The ability to budget at multiple organizational levels is central to Budgyt's design. These levels can be regions or product lines or departments, which are all easily rolled up to a consolidated organizational view. Reporting back against these levels is also built-in to the system.

Best suited if moving from Excel spreadsheets for budgeting, and if QuickBooks Online is your financial system of record. Less suited for organizations using more sophisticated accounting systems, or with a need to report against multiple sub-ledgers such as grants.
