Likelihood to Recommend

Large enterprise facilities that depend on uptime are more likely to want to go with Aironet access points than a cheaper alternative. They are highly reliable and experienced very rare downtime with these access points. You will need IT Budget to go this route over cheaper competitors, but it will be money well spent.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Cisco 3800 Access Points are deployed across ~15 of our locations in office, warehouse, and manufacturing environments. They allow connectivity throughout the facility while maintaining connection while roaming. We use both internal and external antenna variants depending on how challenging the wireless environment is. These have replaced our Cisco 2700 and 1600 series APs.

Pros

  • Ease of setup and installation
  • Ease of management with Catalyst Center
  • Ease of connectivity and roaming

Cons

  • Limited availability of antennae options
  • High cost for non-standard antennae

Likelihood to Recommend

They are well suited for office environments, but are more difficult to predict performance in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.

The amazing Cisco Catalyst 9100 Access Points

Rating: 10 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We are currently using Cisco Aironet Access Points across the entire network. They are being used to provide wireless access for guests and employees. We use these across a very large campus for wireless coverage within buildings as well as some outside areas. They have provided exceptional service for all areas and we have had very little issues with any of them.

Pros

  • 3702i
  • 3802i
  • 9164
  • 9120axe

Cons

  • Dense client deployment
  • Outdoor areas such as parking lots as well as large fields

Likelihood to Recommend

Cisco Catalyst 9100 Access Points are well suited for dense Client solutions. We have used these in areas where we have a large number of guests that need top-notch connectivity without ever losing connection. The one area where we do have difficulty is in outdoor deployment, where large areas need to be covered, but we do not have physical connectivity in order to get the access points connected. This is not an access point issue but more of a physical connectivity limitation.

Very Good APs to Enterprise Networks

Rating: 10 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Cisco APs to our 3 Floors with aprox 100 people per floor. Our environment is covered by 10 Cisco APs 9164 per Floor. As the users today have notebook and celllphones, I think that we have a high usage of the wifi connectivity over the company. The cable connectivity is also available but it is going to be unused.

Pros

  • High speed
  • Wifi 6 support
  • best coverage
  • high secure
  • good compatibility

Cons

  • the configuration steps
  • monitoring in realtime
  • reports of usage

Likelihood to Recommend

For companies that have medium size they fit very well with the compatibility and secure operation. We do not have gap in the coverage and also if a Site Survey is not done before the operation could be bad. A good Site Survey report that indicate the right position of the aps is very recommended.
