A highly accurate application for automating document creation from Salesforce and other data sources

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

My organization utilized Composer mainly for writing RFIs and other revenue-related docs due to its ability to synthesize several different data sources and generate standardized copy with no (or nearly no) errors.

Pros

Uses different data sources to create unified, holistic documents
Strong integration with Salesforce, which is critical for docs relating to the revenue lifecycle
Scalable to be able to generate docs beyond just those relating to contracts/revenue (when we wanted to use it for this).

Cons

UI user experience and usability definitely need improvement as it can feel clunky and hard to navigate at times.
There needs to be more documentation on product usage and more support tutorials. The product has a steep learning curve so anything that can help the facilitate usage would be good.
The application runs very slowly during heavy usage

Conga Composer is an excellent solution for organizations that have defined data sources that the platform will be able to utilize for synthesizing documents. On a higher level, it can help any organization that spends a lot of time creating documents that feel repetitive or easily automatable and that utilize information from multiple sources.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Conga Composer very lightly. We use it to generate contracts and proposals and one off invoices. Creating the proper word template has been a struggle. User interface can be a little more friendly, and finding the correct parameters to use. Also, creating a powerpoint that displays specific account info for all clients in a specific area with a specific asset or data processor would be useful, however Conga Composer does not give us what we are looking for.

There is a lack of flexibility in the formatting (only tables)
Does not work well with anything other than word
Constant 404 Errors in the APIs

My organization uses Conga Composer to help leverage the Conga Grid and generate quotes and contract documents for negotiating and execution. The solution supports the complexity of rates of different fee models and service types and simplifies the manual process of creating fee sheets for various contractors. This has enabled the organization to minimize the time required to generate their contract documents. This also reduces manual data entry error by automating store data for consistency of applied fees for the same service offered and purchased.

We use Conga Composer to ensure that contracts are quickly and accurately drafted and that the multiple drafters/attorneys create the same style of document

Pros

Conga Composer assists in using standardized templates for the contracts
It lets us maintain good version control.
It allows for multiple users to work on a contract and the changes are consolidated.

Cons

Programming the templates is difficult.
At various times setting up queries require recalling special names of fields.
It does not connect multiple systems well in set up

Conga is very robust once you get to know all its features. I do think the support documentation could be continuously improved, and this would help customers get the most out of their already purchased Conga products.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We provide training and grants for gender equity advocacy. Therefore we have a need to provide acceptance emails/letters to participants that have personalized data from our Salesforce system. We use Conga Composer to create and send these acceptance letters, and also grant agreements with personalized details. We also use Conga Composer to generate word documents for our Communications team to develop leader biographies from data collected in onboarding forms. Finally, our development team uses Conga Composer to create and send custom donation acknowledgement emails and letters.

Pros

Makes generating personalized documents easy for the user
Easy to send emails and letters that are generated
Customization of solutions is robust

Cons

Developing solutions is not entirely intuitive but there is strong documentation on how to do it
Automatic spacing in emails is not always ideal

Conga Composer works very well for creating personalized emails, letters, and documents using data that has been collected in Salesforce. The Conga Composer/Salesforce integration is robust and allows for using data from many different Salesforce objects. It is very easy for the user to generate emails, letters, and documents -- the user can also select different templates when generating an email, letter or document.
