Very happy with HubSpot Academy

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Marketing techniques, HubSpot Platform tutorials. Makes the platform super easy to manage. The knowledge base is huge. I personally got several practical certifications that can actually be put to use on a day to day basis. I've been in HubSpot for almost ten years and it's by far the best and most practical CRM in the market.

Pros

  • Huge knowledge base
  • Practical curses with certifications
  • It's free!

Cons

  • Missing actual workshops on some of the premium features of HubSpot
  • Pace of updates and new platforms features might be missing from the existing learning content at the time.
  • Having the actual lessons in written format

Return on Investment

  • It's free, so it's all profit.
  • Received several certifications
  • Helped in my professional growth.

HubSpot Academy is very easy to use and great for learnings with the practice quizzes, videos, and interactive demos!

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use HubSpot Academy to help train myself and other employees on all of HubSpot's different features. Our company bought another so we have two separate Hubspot CRM accounts. When I first started my job 4 years ago, I used HubSpot Academy to train myself on my basics of HubSpot. Now, we are realizing that HubSpot offers so much more so we have been using HubSpot Academy as a group and everyone is working on different things. Currently, I am watching the HubSpot Academy section on email marketing to learn the different tips and tricks on making your emails through HubSpot the most successful. Everytime we hire someone new, they also train with HubSpot Academy. It is very informative videos, practice quizzes, and interactive trainings.

Pros

  • Easy to nagivate
  • Informative training videos
  • Informative practice quizzes
  • Interactive practice (For example, when you are learning about setting up workflows, HubSpot Academy will then take you to a sample workflow so you can practice setting it up)

Cons

  • Some of the training videos are a bit long, the more frequent shorter ones are more effective
  • Sometimes you will do an interactive practice, then it will never give the check mark in HS academy like it was not completed
  • A lot of the times their live chat is great. However, sometimes you ask a question and they will respond with a video or article that is already in the trainings

Return on Investment

  • HubSpot Academy has had a positive ROI on our company because we were able to learn so much to not have to hire an external user to help train us on the basics
  • The only negative ROI I would say HubSpot Academy has is some of the sections are a bit time consuming which takes time out of the day/ salaries

Decent for what it is

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

HubSpot Academy was used for training and onboarding of new employees. HubSpot was a crucial piece of daily work processes and therefore adequate training and preparation was necessary. The Academy itself wasn't leveraged to "solve a problem" so much as it was used to enhance the overall use of HubSpot.

Pros

  • Provides resources users can return to
  • Provides overarching training of HubSpot

Cons

  • The videos are terribly boring in general
  • The voice is grating
  • The instructions weren't always clear

Return on Investment

  • Removed the training burden from managers to allow them to use the time elsewhere (2-8 hours)
  • Provided more standard and robust training to new hires, allowing for more consistent customer experience

The value of HubSpot Academy

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

HubSpot Academy offers a detailed and relevant sales & marketing education programs to further enhance the skillset of a sales professional. Generally, the tool is used to develop strategies for cold calling, onboarding, customer data collection and customer retention. I used this tool frequently, perhaps monthly, to glean useful and measurable information to increase my gross profit margin.

Pros

  • Marketing and sales tips that can be implemented right away
  • Virtual learning environment that offers flexibility
  • Certified training respected in the sales vertical
  • Free to those who use HubSpot CRM
  • Clear, concise courses
  • Expanded library of sales and marketing courses

Cons

  • The duration of some courses is pretty long. Some material can be consolidated so the course doesn't run so long.
  • I've taken a couple of courses where the instructors move too quickly. This can be challenging for someone new to using the platform or even to sales.
  • Those new to the sales or marketing role may not fully understand the inbound methodology of HS Academy. Perhaps "real life" scenarios can better demonstrate the effectiveness of this approach.

Most Important Features

  • Quality and relevant content
  • Flexible course schedule
  • Certification

Return on Investment

  • Course length/duration can vary and occupy too much time for the sales team.
  • Some courses can be consolidated; may be duplicate learnings between two different courses
  • Certificates expire after 1-2 years
