We are an IBM BP and we already successfully migrated several customers to IBM Power Virtual Server.

Pros

  • Resilience
  • Flexibility
  • PErformance

Cons

  • Please remove the 24 hours timeout for the image exports
  • Provide, if possible, a way to move images from one workspace to another
  • Increase the limit of 10TB for images captures/exports to Cloud Object Storage

I provide enablement on IBM Power Virtual Server and as part of it use the product a lot

Pros

  • spin power VSIs
  • provide the same power stack as on prem
  • integrates well with other IBM cloud services

Cons

  • In my opinion, IBM Power Virtual Server has room for improvement because the UI is laggy
  • I thinks there is room for improvement with IBM Power Virtual Server because the network config is complex

  • easily migrate to cloud
  • laggy UI gives a bad UX

Cons

  • GUI restoration of millions of files from long term archiving to archiving tear. We backup data to cloud in object and storage and move it to then long term archiving
  • IBM PowerVs profile changes for HANA DB, we want to use non certified profile while PowerVS instance is used as cold DR only for replciaaiton and change it to certified profile once we spin up DR as produciton

  • need to have good sale support from IBM
  • Need to have more improvement in GUI d=functions rather commands

Pros

  • the servers are reliable and secure
  • the speed of the processors and data encryption performance is just outstanding

Cons

  • it doesn’t have a agile and interactive interface
  • the cost of licenses is really high
  • sometimes it freezes completely, when I have other programs running

  • it's helped modernize my applications and streamline business tasks without needing extra platforms
  • with its storage and automation features, I've cut down time spent on repetitive work significantly
