iCIMS a Better Way to Manage a Large Recruiting and Onboarding Load

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

iCIMS Talent Cloud is used by our organization to coordinate hiring efforts as well as onboarding across multiple states and companies. This allows us to post to job boards from one portal, make offers to candidates, and onboard them within one smooth process. It also integrates with our payroll system Paylocity.

Pros

  • Variety of functionality and customizations for different onboarding and recruiting situations.
  • Customer service is within a chat or email away.
  • The overall looks is very up to date and tech oriented.

Cons

  • I wish we had more capabilities to make updates ourselves within the system configuration without involving customer support.
  • I wish there were more task options within onboarding as far as types of tasks as well as the capability to integrate Docusign or a similar product.
  • I wish the iforms builder was more user-friendly allowing customers to create and make changes to forms.

Likelihood to Recommend

iCIMS Talent Cloud helps to simplify the process if you have multiple companies that you manage recruiting and onboarding for. It is also very user friendly, but it does take a bit of time to learn and understand how the system works if you are not tech savvy. I don't think it would be as worth it to use if you are not dealing with a large hiring volume.

we use iCIMS for our full recruitment process, so this takes care of applicants applying and storing CV's, processing them through the recruitment procedure including interview stage and then using it for our onboarding process too - such as populating our contracts and offer letters directly from iCIMS. We also use it for our recruitment approval process, ensuring managers raise the role to get approval from our exec.

  • Provide information in a real clear way that is easy to understand
  • includes a very thorough and detailed recruitment process (if desired)
  • a clear and robust approval process

Cons

  • it is sometimes difficult to log in with error messages
  • not so easy to always find a particular previously filled role especially when linked to a candidate

i think iCIMS is great to bespoke it to how you want your recruitment process to flow, what information you want to see and extract and how you want other users to view information too. It's really flexible from what i can see and i believe there are more features that we aren't even using yet!

I used iCIMS to manage the full recruitment lifecycle on one of my clients, from framing job requisitions and posting to candidate selection and onboarding. It helps streamline applicant tracking, automate workflows. Earlier, we had challenges with the visibility of hiring metrics.

Pros

  • It makes job posting easy across multiple Job Boards.
  • The system maintains detailed candidate records, EEO data, and hiring documentation.
  • Supports role-based access, which aligns with federal compliance and requirements.

Cons

  • The platform can lag when handling large volumes of candidates, which is common in federal hiring cycles.
  • While integrations exist, syncing data with federal HR systems or background check vendors can require manual intervention.

iCIMSis is really good in managing high-volume federal recruitment where visibility into each stage of the hiring process is essential. Changing candidate statuses (e.g., referred, interviewed, selected) provides clear insight into pipeline progress and helps coordinate across multiple hiring managers.

We use iCIMS Talent Cloud as a means for our applicant application and tracking system. It's a better and more streamlined source for our candidates to submit their applications to open requisitions we have at each site location, and for us to view and sort those applications. The problem we faced before was an email for each application; now we have them all in one source. We can sort, advance, and regret, and onboard applicants using the platform, which has improved our candidates' experience and organization's handling of applicants.

This was a great solution to streamline the applicant process - easy to use, moving from a manual process. it made viewing total applicants and candidates at each step of the workflow process, for each of our job requisitions. It may not be the best system if you're looking for something that is fully integrated or automated. additionally, our company may need to explore its other functionalities.

iCIMS - Great ATS for Large Orgs

We utilized iCIMS Talent Cloud for our entire Applicant Tracking and offer letter process. This allowed us to manage multiple job reqs at multiple locations throughout our organization and assign various job reqs and job postings to various in-house recruiters within the organization. We also utilized the technology for reporting on our Recruiting function, including candidates that had applied and how they transitioned throughout the entire process.

Pros

  • Easy to attach documents throughout various stages of the hiring process, i.e., benefit guides, onboarding documents, privacy agreements
  • Job req creation was easy once job descriptions were saved into the system
  • Easy to track communication sent to the candidates

Cons

  • The system requires you to recreate new job postings in order to refresh job boards
  • The reporting functions can be limited to standard reports, and customization can be challenging

I think this is a great tool for larger organizations where there will be large teams of people that need to access the data at any given moment. It provided a good location that was easy to read, where we all knew what was happening with any given candidate or job posting at any given time. This allowed for ease of communication, especially when a Recruiter is working in the corporate office and the hiring manager may be several states away. I think iCIMS Talent Cloud is more than is needed for smaller groups/teams. Also, iCIMS Talent Cloud has good reporting tools, but it is not robust enough to dig into data in ways that are not standard to their system.

We use iCIMS Talent Cloud as a recruiting ATS and retention matrix tool. We use it on both external and internal placements. iCIMS Talent Cloud helps us address retention in the construction industry that we are facing today. It pairs nicely with LinkedIn and other hiring platforms. From previously using Salesforce for recruiting, this is a big step up and improvement to our recruiting efforts.

Pros

  • Tracks Applicant status in regards to current application and previous applications.
  • Allows flawless integrations between iCIMS Talent Cloud and our current HCM/HRIS.
  • Gives good metrics/graphs of open/closed jobs.

Cons

  • It is a little difficult to track internal applicants that are already active with our company.
  • Some of the fields when hiring an employee are a little difficult to change.
  • Not a sure way of identifying "eligible for rehire" within iCIMS for those that re-apply.

iCIMS Talent Cloud is a great applicant tracking system that allows users to easily identify qualified candidates with built in AI platforms. iCIMS's text recruit is a very helpful tool that allows easy communication from recruiter/admin to candidate, without using personal cell phones on the admin side. This is the day and age that we live in so this is a very appropriate add on.

iCIMS assists in our hiring of employees. From recruiting to onboarding, the platform helps keep track of the process each applicant has made in completing required documentation for hiring. Using iCIMS has allowed us to be more organized and informed throughout the hiring process of each of our new employees.

Pros

  • Tracks applicants for jobs.
  • Follows a thorough onboarding process.
  • Cooperates with our databases.

Cons

  • Exporting data to excel is not easy for the common user.
  • Notifications for users could be more noticeable.
  • Being able to “complete” someone in your onboarding even if a coworker has something they didn’t check off, but you know it’s done.

Likelihood to Recommend

iCIMS is appropriate for companies that hire and onboard a lot of employees. The ability to separate by different generalists and allow each to process and track their own employees is helpful in being more efficient and effective in the Human Resources department. Any company that does basic applicant tracking could use this platform.

The iCIMS Talent Cloud is used posting job positions and sourcing candidates. Running weekly metric reports. The system is used by the HR and Recruiting team. It provides the ease of creatively tracking candidates from start to finish, communicating with candidates in an effective time, and assist with efficient note taking throughout the recruiting process.

It is the least intuitive ATS I have used and each and every change you want to make is an additional charge. It is a bit clunky and has way too many steps within the interview-to-hire processes.
