Kahoot! is Great for Learning

Rating: 10 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Kahoot! serves as a versatile engagement platform addressing key educational and operational challenges across our K-12 organization. We primarily utilize it for two main purposes: gamified student learning and interactive professional development. For students, Kahoot! transforms instruction by providing a tool for real-time formative assessment, concept review, and community building. This directly addresses the challenge of student disengagement and solves the problem of delayed feedback by giving teachers immediate, actionable data to adjust instruction. For our staff, we use Kahoot! to move beyond passive "sit-and-get" training, making professional development more engaging and allowing us to instantly assess comprehension of new district initiatives or compliance protocols. The scope of our use case is broad, spanning all grade levels (K-12) and subject areas, and is used by teachers, students, and administrators to identify and close knowledge gaps efficiently for all learners.

Pros

  • Gamified Learning
  • Easy to use
  • Versatile

Cons

  • Different templates for how the games look
  • More AI integration
  • settings could be easier to find

Likelihood to Recommend

I think it works great as a part of lesson. Sometimes teachers use it as a whole period lesson and I don't think that's effective. I also find that students like to use it to test themselves so it works well as a self study tool. I do think Kahoot! has a lot of options for responses which is great.

Recommended for fun competitions

Rating: 8 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I use It mainly in class during my lectures (higher education) for quizzes and engaging and fun activities and competitions. I usually create between 5 and 8 questions, some of which are timed longer than others. And I mix different types of questions.

I also use it in training and continuous professional development with professionals and colleagues.

Pros

  • User friendly
  • Engaging in the graphic
  • Fan (as it also has soundtracks for each question)
  • Timed answers with leaderboard

Cons

  • Having sometimes large classes means that I cannot use Kahoot! as it only allows a very limited amount of participants.
  • The above is the main issue and other competitor platforms (Mentimeter) do much better on this
  • There is also very limited choice with the basic account in terms of types of questions. Some sort of corporate license might help Universities purchasing the advanced subscription (which costs too much for a single professional) and have access to all the features.

Likelihood to Recommend

Small classes, up to 25 participants. But if with bigger classes, then I would probably recommend a different platform.

Keeping your team engaged using Kahoot!

Rating: 10 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

If you're looking for company-wide collaboration, quick ice-breakers, simple surveys, and super fun quizzes, this is your tool!

Our QBRs are better since the implementation of check-ins and outs, to test people's expectations and evaluate the involvement and attention. Also, we have implemented quizzes after training, helping us obtain metrics on the effectiveness.

It's really easy to create and duplicate boards, so you don't have to spend too much time changing images and information while maintaining the corporate image.

To me, Kahoot! is a powerful ally; it can help teams avoid boring tests and quizzes by adding fun animations and sounds.

I worked as an Agile Coach for several years, and every single workshop that I facilitated, I relied on Kahoot!, which has made wonders with my teams.

Pros

  • Quizzes
  • Surveys
  • Presentations

Cons

  • Metrics & Analytics
  • IA Integration
  • Real-time co-creation

Likelihood to Recommend

Quizzes for workshops, QBRs, and any presentation where you want to interact with people.

After training, I usually run a 10-question quiz and give the winners prizes, so everyone is engaged through the training.

During QBRs, I'm adding a couple of interactions that have made wonders with keeping everyone interested and participating.

For quizzes, it's really easy to add ad-hoc images, whether the meeting is formal or not.

Kahoot! is your best partner in giving a perfect training.

Rating: 9 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Kahoot! provides the best tool to train others and perform educational tests using the application. The best thing is that others can connect online using their smart phones to take quizzes to measure success of training provided earlier.

We had issues basically in finding a good tool to test staff that can stay as a database until we found Kahoot!.

Pros

  • They have different quiz types.
  • You can store your quizzes there.
  • The music and shapes they use is very entertaining.
  • You can at the beginning connect an test for free before you make a purchase.

Cons

  • They can add more ways to perform quizzes.
  • The site is not very simple to find your way through. It is uploaded with so much data; therefore it would be good if they can organize it a little bit.
  • It would be good to give free templates to free users to attract them.

Likelihood to Recommend

A training for a large team where it saved cost in printing quiz papers, collecting papers, a person is responsible to make sure of the score. Kahoot! helped us in saving all the time, it is a sort of an ice-breaker. It really did a great job and at the end of the day everybody was very happy.

Great tool for creating competitive quizzes

Rating: 7 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Kahoot! is a great tool for implementing gaming aspects in learning activities at the university level. We used it in our school of Architecture, design, and planning for Bachelor of Architecture units. Most students find it to be very engaging and interactive. I have also been on the receiving end of using Kahoot!, as it was used by the SES teaching activities, where I was in a role of a student.

Pros

  • Quiz Challenges (who answers first and provides correct answers)
  • Interactive activities and different types of questions
  • Engaging animations and effects

Cons

  • It was extremely annoying that I needed to have 2 devices to use Kahoot! properly, my laptop AND my phone
  • Mobile app needs more work and further development
  • it was sometimes hard to see the answers on a mobile screen

Likelihood to Recommend

This tool can be very useful to test students' understanding and knowledge in a Knowledge Quiz/gaming scenario.: Who is the first and answers the most questions correctly. Kahoot! will display both winners and runners up automatically. On the other hand when students are not knowledgeable, fast, or just shy this approach might not be effective and even counter-productive.

Kahoot makes us bind together!

Rating: 10 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Kahoot was mostly used in our organization whenever there was a program or a celebration such as a year-end party, team building, and the likes. Having this product makes the program so much fun. Especially during this pandemic, where most of us are all working from home or staying at home. Having an online event doesn't leave the fun because we have a Kahoot to make the event more enjoyable. It is so amazing how this product makes us bond together even though we are all far away from each other. It makes it easier for the host to show the question and the choices to all participants and immediately provide who is the leading or the top participants on the question. It makes it easier for the host as well to know the winner of the game because, after the game, it immediately provides the winner of the event. Accessing the Kahoot was very easy because you can access it whether via your laptop or via mobile phone whenever and wherever you are. One problem that we encountered was when you have a weak internet connection, you could have trouble accessing this Kahoot. So we need to make sure we have a good internet connection when connecting to Kahoot.

Pros

  • It helps the participants to show easily all the provided questions and choices of answers.
  • It helps the host to provide the leading contestant on the game.
  • it helps to provide immediately who is the winner of this event.

Cons

  • At least to make it more customizable on the choices on the shape.
  • To customize the color on the choices.
  • To be able to input pictures on the winner.

Likelihood to Recommend

During this pandemic, Kahoot was a great and amazing product where it binds all people together to have fun. It helps a lot as well to make the meeting or presentation to make it more enjoyable. It can be an ice breaker to any training to all the participants who are already bored or can be sleepy as well and helps them to get more energized again on the training.
