OneCause Review.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use One Cause for our non-profit fundraising platform. We use One Cause for Events and general fundraising. It provides a front-end fundraising system, allowing our donors to easily donate to our organization. It is very complex. Their telephone support is very helpful, and not all systems have a live help desk (not AI or Chat).

Pros

  • Allows for us to create donation pages.
  • Supports our events.

Cons

  • Overly complex.
  • Reconciliation (for us) requires 4 file downloads and merging of data.

Return on Investment

  • OneCause allows us to create donation moments that meet our needs.

Happy to be a Bonterra OneCause Customer

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use OneCause for our golf tournament registration and our annual gala fundraiser. During the gala we have silent, live, instant buy, and paddle raise hosted on the platform. It is a great fundraiser platform for these events easy for the customers to use and very easy to set up.

Pros

  • Customer service
  • Video knowledge mapping for set up
  • Depth of resources for an auction-can do anything you envision
  • Onsite support for the event
  • Modern looking, appealing presentation

Cons

  • Ticket vs attendee numbers are confusing-should have the number of attendees immediately visible vs the number of tickets sold
  • Cannot set the facility maximum so it could be over sold

Return on Investment

  • For the golf tournament, it was easy for players to sign up. I had done this via spreadsheet before, so it saved me a lot of time.
  • Having knowledgeable staff on site for the event was very helpful.

Bonterra OneCause Simplified Our Largest Fundraiser Of The Year and Took The Stress Off Of Our Team

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Our agency uses Bonterra OneCause for event planning and registration. The platform is user-friendly and captures all the information we need from our guests. Guests seem to like the ease of registration as well.

Pros

  • Customization
  • Provides a running tally of real-time donations
  • Simple registration for guests
  • Is able to capture all fundraising items

Cons

  • The home page for admin could be clearer because of the two columns on the left that seem to host the same information but for two different purposes
  • And making the "welcome" Registration button or space larger or more obvious on the main event page for users to register

Return on Investment

  • It was more of a positive impact for our agency, with less work for us to on either end

Usability

OneCause Fundraising Platform exceeds expectations

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Valley Outreach used the OneCause Fundraising Platform for our annual gala in 2024. We used the ticketing function to sell tickets which sold out 2 weeks before the event. We also used the fixed price function as well as live auction

Pros

  • Support is fantastic -- either by online chat or phone
  • Customer success managers are always available to help
  • The guest interface looks modern and professional

Cons

  • Some functions are found in different areas of the platform and hard to remember where to find what you need but once you navigate often it is easier to find what you need
  • Reports are different than with other OneCause platforms which takes some getting used to

Return on Investment

  • Our tickets sold out 2 weeks prior to the event which was a bonus!
  • By thinking outside the box we were able to combine 2 fundraising platforms to achieve a function for our event

Fundraising made easy.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

The We Share A Common Thread Foundation uses the OneCause fundraising platform for the silent auction portion of our annual fundraiser. It makes the process so much more efficient by collecting the credit card information and billing the winners immediately at the close of the auction. It allows us to check out our winners with ease. It also allows us to gain extra supporters who are unable to attend the event but still want to bid on our items and help support our cause. We also use it to promote our specialty raffle for a few days before the event, again, allowing those unable to attend to still purchase a ticket for a chance to win.

Pros

  • Ease of uploading silent auction items.
  • Keeping track of donors and ticket sales.
  • Providing QR codes for each item allows the signage to direct people directly to the item they want to bid on.

Cons

  • I would love to make it easier to log comp tickets. We give 2 comp tickets to a few of our nonprofit partners. Many only send in 1 name as the contact. So, it is hard to register the unknown ticket in the system.

Return on Investment

  • It is definitely a time saver, allowing the marketing department to jump in and help online during crunch time.
