file management, file sharing, editing documents, commenting in documents. getting approval for documents, uploading photos, and a variety of other cloud service tasks that any software like box, dropbox, google drive would offer.
Pros
deleting files
sharing within the enterprise
Cons
slow uploads
difficult to share outside the company
tagging people in documents
Likelihood to Recommend
It's not great, but I don't love the user interface and would prefer other services
We use OneDrive so that everyone can have access to essential files. It allows the entire company to see and edit files together, addressing the communication gap that can sometimes occur within companies. We use it so everyone can see files that need to be shared.
Pros
Allows for communication.
Allows for customization.
Creates transparent companies.
Cons
If you have someone with a history of using OneDrive at other companies, some files can blend together. At least from my point of view, I could see files that did NOT belong, which made me super paranoid.
It needs a better user interface to show what is shared with the rest of the company and what is NOT.
Simpler, intuitive set up with solve this issue.
Likelihood to Recommend
It is well suited if the shared files are all sent through ONE person who can upload them for the whole company to see. If you want a file to be put into OneDrive, you just email it to a specific email address, and it automatically gets uploaded.
Currently OneDrive is the one stop shop for all our document and video management. We have organised structures where teams can save the data in their own space. Having the ability to save documents in to locations where we can put permissions in place so that others cant access these documents is very handy.
Pros
Permission based access
Document storage
Ability to save documents to the cloud from internal folder
Cons
Length of time for default videos
Sharing sometimes can be delayed
Sometimes its easy to get lost in folder structures
Likelihood to Recommend
Starting a new project its alway great to set yourself up a space and set the permission. You can easily outline folders and put locks on documents that shouldn't be spread across the entire team. Once the project is up and going team members from all over the globe are able to save documents. Some of these documents can be teams meetings that have been recorded that have great value to the project itself.

We are using university wide OneDrive solution for storage and file sharing. For research oriented activities, it is necessary for the students and faculties to have easy, multi device, multi platform storage solutions. OneDrive provides just that, we can share large files easily, efficiently, and securely. It can be accessed from anywhere anytime. Having 1 tb/person is also a great.
Pros
Easy file storage
Efficient file sharing
Data Security
Cons
Platform for linux
Group sharing
Opening different document formats
Likelihood to Recommend
OneDrive is a great solution where you need a lot of storage and easy file sharing with different security options. If you have office 365 suite, it is best for an integrated experience. Works very good for windows and macos. There are room for improvements for linux based systems.
We use OneDrive to connect all of our files to our Sharepoint server. These files sync with each other. If OneDrive goes down or disconnects, we've lost files, so we depend on OneDrive to always be up and running, with no crashes or down time.
Pros
Keeps our files in sync with the SharePoint server
Keeps any personal files synced but remain password protected
Easy to access from any web browser
Cons
My OneDrive will disconnect itself after I do a hard reboot over the weekend
My OneDrive will completely disappear from view randomly
After a hard reboot, most often I'll have to go into my applications folder to find the OneDrive app, then open and wait for it to sign in and sync
Likelihood to Recommend
OneDrive is very well-suited to handle synced files with an online server. On the same token, if/when OneDrive randomly disconnects this causes an issue.
OneDrive is used in our organization as the primary online document management and cloud storage platform. It is used widely within all areas of business in integration product and project work streams, connecting an online experience for document review and revision, a storage management system for materials like online media and artifacts and marketing document repository to name a few. The platform cuts down on paper copies around the enterprise and offers a secure platform for users to easily learn and use.
Pros
Allows for easy organization of documents
Secures files separate from general documentation
Allows for documents to be collaborated on in live real time with multiple editors accessing the same copy
Provides online access across the globe to resources for teams development and project needs
Cons
Other platforms offer more encryption support for various formats of files
Offer more storage for free tier to attract adoption of premium services - lowest offering of all comparable services
Improve native application support with Android and IOS

I'll start with what I would not use OneDrive for! I would not use it as a primary source for code repository, there are other more robust tools out there that can help you with storing and making available code repos. Where I would use OneDrive is in a platform for managing files, and with that I mean any file that can be saved offline and access a OneDrive access point, share, or mount. This could be personal, business, or data from a system that is saved in a standard file format. The OneDrive platform is great for documents collaboration as well, with the ability to allow for share and links to be provided to for easy access and collaboration. I would also recommend if you are someone who likes to use cloud services and rely less and less on offline storage. OneDrive excels in this area!
OneDrive is a very helpful solution that helps us to back up some important files. The app is very easy to use it. I love the fact you can share some files with internal or external users with secure link.
Pros
Share files
Collaboration
Synchronization
Cons
Need more space
Synchronization is too long
Likelihood to Recommend
I used to :
Save my files to use it in some devices
Collabore with my coworkers and some providers

Microsoft OneDrive is hands down the worst piece of software I have ever used in my life. Unbelievably terrible and inconsistent UI of the control panel, constant issues with files syncing or not syncing when they should or should not, you never knowing if OneDrive is doing something in the background or not, the laughable "Personal Vault" with no secondary security option, the jokes never end. Why is the UI of the control panel and the window to Choose Folders sync completely different, as in 1995 v 2010 different? Why is it NOT POSSIBLE to resize the Choose Folders window so you are not forced to browse your file tree in a stupidly tiny window? Why does clicking a folder in your file tree in the Choose Folders window freeze OneDrive for dozens of seconds each time? Why does clicking OK in the Choose Folder NOT save your options you are forced to do this several times to add one tiny folder? Why does OneDrive sync random half of files in a fully selected folder and say All files are synced? Why doesn't OneDrive ACTUALLY save the files on your disk when you select the "Make these files ALWAYS available on this PC"? I pity the day I decided to go for OneDrive and I will be moving away from it soon.
Pros
Nothing.
Cons
Terrrible and inconsistent UI that does not work.
You never knowing what is OneDrive actually doing, no logs or detailed information.
With inconsistent sync, you not being able to pull your files to a new device unless you sacrifice a goat first.
We utilize Onedrive, which is part of the Microsoft 365 package, to fully back all of the personal data upon every user's computer and to share papers with customers online in a way that allows many people to work on a word or excel project at the same time. Providing each customer with a complimentary terabyte of storage is a great method to ensure that everyone else's personal data have always been safeguarded in the clouds.
Pros
OneDrive allows sending the folders you designate.
OneDrive makes it simple to share huge files with people without having to contact them.
Multiple people can access the same files using OneDrive information in the cloud.
Cons
Maintaining real-time coordination with all of my devices has proven tough.
System restore would occasionally stop working for short periods of time.
Occasionally, the font of the papers is changed.

By controlling all of your institution's digital products, OneDrive will make your life much easier. Instead of spending time and resources on alternative collaborative tools, I propose that you use OneDrive. Its Android application is quite beneficial. Its uploading speed will certainly entice you.
