Prezly: stable workflows for communication

Rating: 10 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We are pleased that Prezly in general has so many stable features that serve both for the direct management of the most important points when establishing collaborative processes by the team, and allow us to be focused on making group interaction sessions where you can easily review the information provided by each member.

Pros

  • Prezly allows us to collect all the information of those bugs, or in any case, inconveniences, that are related to the gaps that the workflow model of our company shows from the beginning, which serves as a basis for creating better and more elaborate performance schemes regarding future workflow formations.

Cons

  • Prezly's platform tends to constantly present slowness issues if you are going to work with external flows coming from other platforms, usually while they are loading, or it can lead to the platform itself stopping its use. Our recommendation to deal with this is to simply copy the workflows inside Prezly, without using the original formats.

Likelihood to Recommend

Since this platform is so easy to use when creating or managing communication workflows, it is recommended to work mostly with scenarios that generally require several processes to complete each group management, for example, to cover from the follow-up of employees within the communications team to the management of the team's communication processes.

Prezly helps our media relations rock 'n roll!

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Prezly to build digital newsrooms, create beautiful and visual press releases with photos and video that drop right into emails. It also helps us segment and manage reporter contacts. It's a simple, easy-to-use system that helps us punch above our weight as a small PR firm. The open rate/clicks feature helps us know who has received and opened the pitch, who's really interested and what's driving their interest, and who to follow up with to make sure they've seen the pitch. We're also experimenting with dropping the Dropbox link with video in the email above the pitch when we distribute content. All in all, Prezly in an invaluable tool we use almost daily as a PR firm.

Pros

  • Press releases with photos, videos, clean, attractive layout
  • Contact management with tags and segments for media outreach
  • Click rates/open rates to help target our followup outreach
  • Full HTML press releases dropped into email instead of attached PDFs that don't get opened

Cons

  • I'd like to see a little closer match between the preview layout and how the stories/emails populate in the actual email outreach
  • I'd love a way to host video in the digital newsrooms
  • I would LOVE LOVE LOVE a way to name campaigns individually (i.e. Print reporters or TV newsrooms or Producers so I can differentiate campaigns

Likelihood to Recommend

Prezly is a powerful tool to manage media relations by creating a digital newsroom, digital press releases with embedded photos and video, and a contact management system that's easy to use and responsive. It makes us look professional and sophisticated and reflects well on our clients. It also helps us be targeted and strategic in our outreach by using the tag and segment system that lets us send releases only to the people most likely to be interested. We have a reputation of being good media partners and Prezly is a big reason for that.

Prezly is essential for PR pros

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I use Prezly to build media kits containing all the assets needed to distribute a press release to media contacts. I also use it in other creative ways: private backgrounding pages, judging guides for awards programs, working pages to share with my team. It also houses my contact database so that I can manage and track contact information and actions/conversations with media.

Pros

  • Media kit around a press release including visual assets including video, attachments, text, links, etc.
  • Distribute press releases or press pages to the contacts I have uploaded and manage in Prezly.

Cons

  • The contact management system is a little wonky but it has improved over the last two years and I expect that trend to continue.
  • The grouping system (segments) and tagging is not intuitive. I've had many missteps in trying to get content to particular segments while deselecting individuals.
  • You cannot add another group of people to a distribution without going back and recreating the same distribution. you can add individuals but not groups.

Likelihood to Recommend

Prezly is perfect for building media kits and making assets available to anyone, not just the media. It is perfect for my small agency because it is quick and yet the pages look great. It is a great tool for building private pages of assets and backgrounding to send to media for personalized pitches.

Prezly -- User-Friendly PR CRM

Rating: 8 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Prezly as a database for our PR contacts in the music space. It's a great organizational tool for us to make sure we stay on track and keep updated with our key relationships. It allows us to stay organized while collaborating on key projects together. This is the only software we've found to allow us to do this effectively.

Pros

  • Organized Contacts / Contact Management
  • Engagement Tracking
  • CRM

Cons

  • More Collaboration Tools
  • Newsroom can be a bit confusing for new users
  • Better advanced search features

Likelihood to Recommend

It is very well suited for a full blown PR campaign where you need to track certain publications, features and authors. It is less appropriate if you aren't pitching outside sources or if it's a small campaign.
