We like to use Relativity for small and large matters. It is extremely rare that I would think of using another eDiscovery platform. We conduct PII reviews for one of our service lines. We use another software called Canopy which has much more suitable features.

Relativity is well suited for all the eDiscovery workflows. It's excellent for document review, coding, active learning, content and structured analytics, searches, persistent highlights, imaging, and burning redactions into productions. The error rates with processing in Relativity are a little compared to other eDiscovery processing tools in the market. It is solely for document review purposes legal scenarios or otherwise, but it is not a complete solution for building customized hosting nor neither it is a replacement for conventional websites.

I use Relativity as an online document management system. It's used to store document collections, review documents for privilege and responsiveness, redact and produce documents and native files. Also used for document searches and review for preparations for upcoming depositions. Create and download collections of documents and native files for review and use as deposition exhibits.
Pros
Searching for documents and native files with various terms and approaches.
Tagging documents and native files for further review.
Creating and downloading collections of documents and native files for depositions.
Cons
More access to modifying homepage and search results view.
More control over adding and deleting features.

For the most part, Relativity is fairly easy to learn and use on a daily basis. Like most programs and platforms, you can learn to streamline usage, features, and results/downloads with more users over time. Just be careful how with multiple users in a document database, you have to make sure everyone knows NOT to make any edits or changes to tags and collections that others have set up.
Relativity is used to review electronic discovery documents. It allows users to sort, group, and mark documents so they can be labelled and accessed later by others by searching keywords or labels.

Allows for searchability
Provides documents tags

Cons
Memory
Crashes frequently
Works slowly

Relativity is particularly well suited for large electronic discovery matters where a lawyer is attempting to sort through thousands of documents in a short period of time.
Relativity is primarily used by my organization in two separate workflows: 1) cull/filter data, 2) review client data for production and prepare productions AND review of in-bound productions from opposing counsel
Pros
Can scale to support a review of a large number of documents and reviewers and/or large number of cases
Can be customized to support a variety of different workflows and integration with 3rd party tools and external processes and scripting of different fields
Very secure. Can be enabled to run 2 factor authentication
Cons
Very powerful tool, but does require a high level of expertise and head count to administer the product.
If hosting yourself, requires investment in servers and ideally is housed in a data center
Providers need to pay kCura a monthly user license fee for every user who has access to the tool. Providers can purchase blocks of users, but with a large amount of users on a case, it's cost that some external clients are not thrilled about
Likelihood to Recommend
It's well suited for culling/filtering data, review and production of data.
It's not well suited for organizations who don't have expertise administering a similar product and/or infrastructure to support the tool
