Hard learning curve that paid off 100%

Rating: 10 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Spryker OS as the core of our e-commerce Webshop. The software architecture based on a modular monolithic is well designed, and a healthy and active community in Slack is keen to help you anytime.

Pros

  • Modular software architecture
  • Reusable quality software
  • Fun and modern tech

Cons

  • Better OSS user experience

Likelihood to Recommend

If you need an online shop that deals with a large load of orders and shipments, Spryker has you well covered. But there is a hard and complex learning curve you need to be aware of, you need to be able to invest in that learning for yourself and your team. It will take some time, but it will surely pay off.

Great software if you can afford and handle the complexity

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use it as an e-commerce solution in a complex environment with lots of legacy systems

Pros

  • Extendable
  • Open Code
  • High end business Features

Cons

  • Documentation
  • Fluctuation in contact persons

Likelihood to Recommend

Spryker Cloud Commerce OS fills the gap between standard shop systems (which lack many great business features) and closed high-end enterprise solutions that aren't easy to extend or implement

Spryker: An awesome and innovative commerce system with some weaknesses

Rating: 8 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Spryker as our e-commerce solution and customer frontend. We have very extensive product data (3 million SKUs, 8 million images, 60 million technical attributes, etc.) and a use lot of APIs.

Pros

  • Code quality
  • Modularity
  • APIs
  • Customer Success
  • Scalability

Cons

  • Bug fixing takes a long time
  • Bad documentation (especially new features)
  • A lot of B2B functions incomplete
  • Price intensive

Likelihood to Recommend

Well suited: Spryker is ideal if you want to build a complex system by yourself with many complicated processes, APIs, etc. However, you need an excellent developer team. If you don't have this team, you will fail. If you "only" want to build an online shop, your budget is small and you want to go online quickly: maybe you should look at other systems.

You can do everything you want, most things have to be done.

Rating: 6 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use it for our own brands, as for our retail business. We can easily develop both streams in one platform and share features between the different markets around the world.

Pros

  • Flexibility to configure each store individually in every detail.
  • Modularity. Features can be easily be extended or adjusted.
  • Middleware component connects different ERP systems to our backend.

Cons

  • Upgradeability. Each ne release must be covered with with a migration document, but its missing most of the times.
  • Best practices and developer education is lacking of documentation and support.
  • The vendor platform lacks of test and documentation.

Likelihood to Recommend

Spryker is lacking a lot of standard features or backend views that might be used from other systems. So if you rely on them, you have to develop the most things on your own, which needs time and is most intense. The backend is basically not made for daily shop administration work out of the box. However, if you need a flexible system, which can easily interoperate with different systems, Spryker is a good fit. We can easily connect and integrate with other systems, that are part of the eCommerce system (ERP, PIM, CMS, CRM, etc)

Spryker is a great headless E-commerce solution

Rating: 9 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Spryker as a headless e-commerce solution for our corporate webshop. In this webshop, we are selling spare parts, wear-and-tear parts, and even service contracts. The webshop is built onto Spryker so that we can maintain corporate design languages, the individual user does not notice that Spryker is below the surface. We are rolling out into more and more countries and supporting another country is really easy with Spryker

Pros

  • Modularity
  • Fast Deployment
  • Upgradeability

Cons

  • Country separation
  • Masterdata import
  • Masterdata export

Likelihood to Recommend

Spryker is well suited for companies that do not want to implement their own e-commerce platform, but still want to have complete control over the UI and the design language for the frontend. So users will never know that the website is using Spryker below the surface. The back office is really easy to use for Administrators and customer support.

Spryker Helps Solve Complex eCommerce Scenarios!

Rating: 9 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We are an agency and are looking for a modern and flexible solution for our clients that can meet the complex and individual requirements of our clients.

Pros

  • It's a very flexible framework.
  • It helps to realize different and complex E-Commerce scenarios.
  • It comes with a lot of different modules and functionalities.

Cons

  • It is complex to implement due to its modular approach.
  • It is price-intensive.

Likelihood to Recommend

Spryker is particularly suitable for complex and individual e-commerce scenarios, such as complex B2B scenarios or marketplace solutions. As a result, Spryker is not the right choice when it comes to standard scenarios with low complexity, as the system is not an out-of-the-box tool, but requires configuration effort.
