Overall Satisfaction with Spryker Cloud Commerce OS

We use it for our own brands, as for our retail business. We can easily develop both streams in one platform and share features between the different markets around the world.
  • Flexibility to configure each store individually in every detail.
  • Modularity. Features can be easily be extended or adjusted.
  • Middleware component connects different ERP systems to our backend.
  • Upgradeability. Each ne release must be covered with with a migration document, but its missing most of the times.
  • Best practices and developer education is lacking of documentation and support.
  • The vendor platform lacks of test and documentation.
  • Expand to new markets
  • Expand business areas
  • Harmonization of IT-infrastructure
The community and feature set is way bigger compared to Spryker. Flexibility is missing in most of these systems.
Customer service is well established and reacts very fast to our needs, so that would justify an even higher ranking. But reported bugs take partly a long time to be fixed or are not treated at all. A lot of problems are reported back as "project issues", but having a highly individual product is their USP in the end. Documentation is partly very outdated or not helping at all. Missing developer support for sharing the Spryker technology stack or philosophies.
As a daily operator, it's quite hard to work with the oob products. Basic features like permissions or search filter adjustments are too basic to have a business value. A lot of features are also missing the simple delete feature. However, the usability for us comes also from a lack of functionality. Main work for certain requirements is done, where it is supposed to be done (Product data in PIM, order processing in ERP, data analysis in BI).

Spryker is lacking a lot of standard features or backend views that might be used from other systems. So if you rely on them, you have to develop the most things on your own, which needs time and is most intense. The backend is basically not made for daily shop administration work out of the box. However, if you need a flexible system, which can easily interoperate with different systems, Spryker is a good fit. We can easily connect and integrate with other systems, that are part of the eCommerce system (ERP, PIM, CMS, CRM, etc)
