Supermetrics is necessary for any advertising agency that doesn't have an easy way of pulling data. When a client used multiple ad platforms, it is super easy to query data using Supermetrics from multiple sources and then aggregate it into a master file. You can also schedule refreshes so you do not have to constantly download reports from other platforms daily.

Supermetrics is Super Great.

Rating: 8 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Supermetrics to provide consolidated, automated reporting data to feed client dashboards. Rather than pulling performance metrics from each platform individually and manually, we can automate the pull of pre-formatted data. This not only saves a strategist's time, but also provides performance updates to the client on-demand.

Pros

  • Automated updates.
  • Platform integrations.
  • Data formatting.
  • Ease-of-use.

Cons

  • Pricing/team scalability.

Likelihood to Recommend

Supermetrics is well suited for any organization that advertises on multiple ad platforms. It is also useful for organizations that advertise on platforms with sub-par native reporting options. Supermetrics would be somewhat cost-prohibitive for large organizations that require many integrations and many user licenses.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Supermetrics allows us to create tools in Data Studio that help us more efficiently collect data from Social Media. Being able to have the data all in one place saves a lot of time for us, and helps us baseline our efforts in our industry.

Pros

  • Customer service is exceptional.
  • The tool is reliable and has great uptime.
  • Has a large amount of dimensions and metrics to choose from.

Cons

  • Sometimes I have to refer to the website to find which metrics are what - the names aren't always the same as the platform calls them.
  • No public data for LinkedIn.
  • Definitely requires knowledge on how to use Google Data Studio.

Likelihood to Recommend

This may sound like a small detail, but SuperMetrics YouTube API includes the published date, while Google's does not. This one piece of information organizes my YouTube data so much better for my reports. I also find that the amount of data I can pull with Supermetrics makes it ideal for creating measuring tools rather than reporting.

Simple. Powerful.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

All of our data systems were fragmented and there was no clear line of sight into business performance. With Supermetrics we have connected our key data systems and marketing platforms to provide consistent data visibility throughout all levels of the business. Since implementing Supermetrics, we've gleaned powerful insights that span marketing, sales, and customer service and have helped us make good business decisions.

Pros

  • Scheduled refreshes
  • Extensive list of connectors
  • Ease of configuration

Cons

  • Expanded data formatting options
  • Auto-retry when data fails to update (Facebook API timeout problem specifically).

Likelihood to Recommend

Supermetrics makes "hard to get to" data easy to access. With the power of their data connectors, you can compile and consolidate multiple data sources into a singular dashboard that brings all key insights to the forefront. One of the most difficult tasks as a marketer is to ensure that you are always making the best data-driven decisions across multiple ad platforms, lead sources, and verticals. Supermetrics has been instrumental in helping us stitch all that data together for better decision-making.

Excellent tool but not cheap. You get what you pay for I guess.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Supermetrics to automate reporting for presentations and as an ETL tool to import data into other tools.

Pros

  • Supermetrics is easy to use to do API data connections.
  • Automating reporting from marketing platforms.
  • Sharing files via email on a schedule is easy.

Cons

  • I have times when support was slower than expected but the answers were always helpful.

Likelihood to Recommend

I would probably recommend Supermetircs for anyone who needs to automate data connections to marketing platforms. I would caveat the cost though. It isn't cheap. I imagine there are a lot of support resources needed and API management but some of the APIs have been around for a long time and don't need regular updating. The price of Supermetrics has risen substantially over the years.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Supermetrics for Sheets and as Connector for Google Data Studio mostly. Supermetrics is useful for automated reports. We create different automations for different purposes. Especially for a company like a digital marketing agency, it is essential to have a solution like Supermetrics, dealing with a lot of different companies means creating reports in a wide variety. With Supermetrics, we may have the data that we want in seconds without sampling. We create different dashboards in Google Data Studio with Supermetrics Google Analytics connector and different automation reports in Sheets such as daily, weekly or monthly reports. Supermetrics saved a lot of time of ours and made our reports super easy to create.

Pros

  • Unsampled Data
  • Very Fast
  • Many Connectors for Differents Tools
  • User Friendly UI
  • Automated Reports with Triggers

Cons

  • Not allowing multiple users.
  • Running of queries is slow for big data.
  • Too expensive.

Likelihood to Recommend

Supermetrics doesn't allow multiple users at the same time and it is a very expensive tool. So if you want to use Supermetrics with your team from the same account at the same time it is not possible. This is a big problem for our team because sometimes we have to work at the same time on different reports. This is why we are going to search for cheaper alternatives to Supermetrics.

Supermetrics Offers Google Value For Data API Connections

Rating: 10 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Supermetrics powers our data analytics and reporting capabilities by importing API data from media publishers and analytics services such as Google Analytics into business intelligence tools such as BigQuery, spreadsheets in Google Sheets, and reporting tools such as Google Data Studio. It offers strong customization capabilities allowing you to choose the metrics and fields that are most beneficial to you but is limited somewhat by the areas allowed in the API integrations from the data sources.

Pros

  • Data analytics
  • Budget management
  • Customized reporting

Cons

  • Upsell for certain data sources
  • Refreshing feeds can be clunky at times

Likelihood to Recommend

If you are looking to pull and aggregate data from multiple sources for reporting or analytics, Supermetrics is the best option for connecting those data sources into a single table. Supermetrics is less beneficial if you report on a single data source or do not need to aggregate your data into a single source.

  • LinkedIn Ads data integration with Google Data Studio
  • Bing Ads data integration with Google Data Studio

Cons

  • Documentation for metric names for different data sources - every network has a different label for Ad Spend, or Cost, or Spend, etc

Likelihood to Recommend

Excellent tool for bringing in lots of data sources to Google Data Studio (Facebook Ads, LinkedIn Ads, social organic metrics, etc.) Not great if you are only reporting on Google data sources.
